I'm Jewish and have no idea what you are talking about Namo.
And BSo, yes, parents (and grandparents) go to spelling bees, that's about it though.
only if the contestants sing

Singing Y.M.C.A. and gesturing the letters is totally acceptable at productions of Damn Yankees.

Well, I would like to see grandparents do the wave!

again with the dumb ****ing analogies
NO it would not ok to take pictures during the show, because its unsafe, and illegal, and bothers the other audience members DURING THE SHOW, before the show, if someone wants sing a little song, or fart the national anthem, they are free to. Will everyone around them like it? No, will anyone around them have any authority to make them stop? NO. as long as what they do does not interfee with the actors or the audience euring the performance, then who gives a damn?
ZONEACE, are you capable of making an intelligent argument without being bleeped out by the BWW censors?
But it's ok to interfere with the audience before the show? Yelling at other audience patrons to keep the wave going? Boo them if they don't participate?
And yes, their ADULT chaperones have the authority to make them stop. And should have.

1) How hard is it to ignore them? 2) How ridiculously overly-sensitive are you to be so upset about being booed?

That's one result of children's theatre on Broadway.

orange, my language is not in question, and if it is, then you obviously have no argument. I think people like liotte and you are ruining the world by trying to take all the fun out of it. Learn to have fun. or die young, either way, the world will be a better place.
1) How hard is it to ignore them?
It is very difficult to ignore a group of teenagers yelling across a theater. They acted as though they were at a sporting event. Did I do the wave? Absolutely not. But they were definitely disturbing a lot of people, there were audible complaints from around the room.

It's not like it's Medea. It's SPELLING BEE for god's sake.

This proves it!
SPELLING BEE is evil.

if you didn't like what they were doing, why not just tell them to sit down and shut up? I know it's probably what i would have done, but i wouldn't have come back here and complained about and said it didn't belong in the theatre. I would let them know they were being dumbasses, and MOVED ON.
ETA:
BSO, that's probably true.
"Learn to have fun. or die young, either way, the world will be a better place."
So I don't know how to have fun? Because I don't like the wave when I go to a Broadway show? And I should die to make the world a better place?
Just making sure I have this right. The world will be better with people like YOU and your swearing, negative statements, and telling people to calm the **** down and they should die. Yeah, that makes for a great world! Sign me up!

Is this OK:
I was pissed that people were climbing over the seats before the show when I saw FIDDLER. Some ushers yelled at them - and the parents of these naughty children yelled at the ushers, "How dare you talk to our kids like that!"
Is it ok I was upset?

Yeah, you got that one pretty spoit on Liotte.
Broadway Legend Joined: 5/10/05
BSO, yeah, thats fine, but what wouldn't be fine is if you brought it back here and made it EVERYONE's problem and railed on it for 45 minutes.
Broadway Legend Joined: 12/8/04
When I rail it doesn't take 45 minutes.

Liotte, you probably need to take a long break from SPELLING BEE.
ZONEACE, if you don't like talking about it, go away and stop posting in this thread.

Liotte will one day realize that you can't control other people, that things do not always go the way WE want them to, and that not everybody is always going to give us the exact response we want when we start threads in which we assume we will get nothing but 100% support and agreement.

Oh, but this is fun for me liotte. Great fun.
Broadway Legend Joined: 12/8/04
In liotte's defense, people have started threads here pissed off at people wearing jeans in the theatre...
Broadway Legend Joined: 5/10/05
BSo, that's another stupid thing. I've worn sweats to the theatre, on multiple occasions. And frankly, if someone said something to me about, i would let them know that should mind their own ****ing business and stop worrying so much about what people wear to the theatre. If they have nothing better to do but get offended by someone who fully clothed then they need to get a hobby, or a job, or something productive.
