I have so maney here the first to come to mind

Madmen just get jeers and boos
not visits to thuer grave
while Lincoln who got mixed reviews, thanks to you John
now gets only raves

Thank you for the shade
and putting me in front
yes thank you Geaorge for that
and for the hat

The funniest joke I've never heard get a laugh

only three more tries and we'll have our prize
when the ends insight you'll realize
if the end is right...
it justifies the bean

Maybe I'm alone in thinking that is one of the funniest things ever written by somone other than Woody Allen, but I find Woody Allen laugh out loud funny so that tells you somthing about my sense of humor.

I Wish... Madeline Kahn could have played the Witch in Into the Woods. She would have rocked!

C is for Company, I was honestly considering posting the "You watch while I revise the world" quote from SITPWG earlier. I agree that that entire section of "Beautiful" is amazing. re: The wisdom of Sondheim

And I agree with,
"Pretty isn't beautiful, Mother.
Pretty is what changes.
What the eye arranges
Is what is beautiful."

It's just such a gorgeous song overall.

It hardly ever seems to get mention though

Well, most of the quotes mentioned here are applicable to general life, which that particular quote probably doesn't. I'm glad someone did mention it, though.

This quote is currently in my AIM profile:

Hard to see the light now
Just don't let it go
Things will come out right now
We can make it so
Someone is on your side
No one is alone

Pretty much that whole song.

"Shut up! It's been 29 years!!!" --the incomparable Patti LuPone in her MUCH DESERVED Tony acceptance speech for Gypsy.

My fault, I fear...
I thought that you'd want what I want.
Sorry my dear..."

"I was half convinced I'd waken,
Satisfied enough to dream you..."
-- Sweeney Todd

"Someone tell me, when is it my turn?
Don't I get a dream for myself?"

Princes yes, but wolves and humans too..."

You stay, Johanna
The way I've dreamed you are
Oh look, Johanna--
A star!
A shooting star!
--Sweeney Todd

My favorite lyrics from that show. Probably my favorite song from that show.

"if ya wanna bump it, bump it with a trumpet!"

"sometimes people leave you halfway through the woods. Do not let it grieve you, no one leaves for good."

"And when the woman that you wanted goes,
You can say to yourself, "Well, I give what I give."
But the women who won't wait for you knows
That, however you live,
There's a part of you always standing by,
Mapping out the sky,
Finishing a hat...
Starting on a hat..
Finishing a hat...
Look, I made a hat...
Where there never was a hat." Sunday in the Park with George

Such amazing lyrics. Im in into the woods right now and the kid playing jack had the nerve to say Sondheim can't write theatre and that Sweeney Todd is S*** and that Assassins is ok. I wanted to kill him!

trust me jasonf he was gonna die. He also said the reason the music is so "F***ed up" was because sondheims mom raped him as a child. I wanted to kill him so badly and then I thought he is just the dumbest person I ever met cuz he's jack in Into the Woods a sondheim show which he says is brilliant. Ironically his two favorite musicals are Rent and Wicked so I don't think I need to say anymore.

haha - yeah, well....not much you can do about it.

"Ok now you know,
Now forget it don't fall apart at the seams
It's called letting go of your illusions
And don't confuse them with dreams
If the going's slow
Don't regret it and don't let's go to extremes
It's called what's your choice
It's called count to ten
It's called burn your bridges, start again
You should burn them every now and then or you'll never grow
Because now you grow
That's the killer is now you grow
All right, nothing's fair
And it's all a plot
And tomorrow doesn't look too hot
Right, you better look at what you got...
Over here, hello!
Ok, Now you know, right?"

Brilliant.

I really love that song so much.

People make mistakes,
holding to their own,
thinking their alone.
Honor their mistakes,
everybody makes,
one another's terrible mistakes.
Witches can be right,
giants can be good,
You decide what's right,
you decide what's good,
Just remember...someone is on your side,
Someone else is not.
While you're seeing your side,
maybe you forgot,
Someone is on your side,
No one is alone.-Into the Woods
