You join today to post a link to your scalping website? That isn't even entirely (or even mostly) for Broadway?
Yes, I looked at the site. Cheapest tickets available for Billy Elliot, say, are $362 each.

If that's out of your budget, you can try http://www.broadwayforbrokepeople.com/ instead!
Have a nice day :)

Budget aside, why would we pay those outrageous prices when we can get good and probably in a lot of cases, the same seats for cheaper? Doesn't mean we are broke, it means we are smart enough not to pay those prices.
Have a nice day

Posted: 4/21/11 at 9:12amWow... you're ignorant. What does that site have to do with scalping? I checked it out and it has nothing to do with scalping. It's called a ticket broker. There is a difference. A scalper is someone that stands outside trying to sell you tickets. A broker has a website, online checkout, terms of service, policies, customer service and a ticket guarantee, much like this site. Go down and find a scalper and ask what their policies are. As far as prices... ever hear of supply and demand? Same thing happens with every industry... A middle man comes in and makes a business. Sometimes it is ok to ignore people than try to knock them down. You owe that person an apology!

You mean he owes you (since you're the same person) an apology? Take your scalping website along with your computer and shove them up your greedy, scamming ass.
Oh, and have a good day.

Posted: 4/21/11 at 9:21amActually, that wasn't me that posted that. I am in the ticket business too but I don't rely on message boards to sell tickets. Unless you work in non-profit, your business model is the same. take something, sell it, make a profit. There is no scam here! I will have a good day because I am starting to see how much this is annoying you. You should relax a little! Don't feel obligated to comment on everything that annoys you, it makes you sound whiny.

I've never understood why people go to ticket brokers or pay service charges when they can get those same tickets without those additional fees at the box office.
Have a good day.

"Don't feel obligated to comment on everything that annoys you, it makes you sound whiny."
I don't feel obligated. I just wanted to comment on the fact that anyone with half a brain (clearly not your target customer base) knows you and the original poster are the same people pushing your ridiculous website scamming people out of their money. It's sick and there should be a law putting you people out of business.
Have a blessed day.

Certain box offices don't even offer that option. The tickets available on these websites are a combination of ticket brokers, promoters and season ticket holders.

Box offices definitely allow you to select seats and they DON'T sell out quickly.

Posted: 4/21/11 at 9:33amThere is no scamming... if people want to pay the supply-and-demand price, let them. If not, they can read about it or get tickets the morning they go on sale at the box office. We're not forcing (or scamming) anyone to do anything!

Hey, DipSH*T, who do you think you're talking to? This isn't a website full of midwestern tourists who have no idea about buying tickets.
So let's break this down, shall we? You're saying that with your website you offer great seats not otherwise available right? Could that be because............you and your scamming employees BUY all those seats and resell them back at astronomically high prices to people who otherwise would have been able to get them at their original price?
Have a nice day. In hell.

I would encourage people to avoid your services.

Posted: 4/21/11 at 9:43amWow, you have out-witted me by swearing at me. I guess I have no choice but to close my business and force every other ticket broker to close their businesses too. While I am at it, I will ask all the real ticket scalpers to please stop scalping tickets. Well done! They should write a play about you... you're like a super hero. Bravo!

#16Theater Tickets Broadway
Posted: 4/21/11 at 9:46amShows how much you know. A play was already written about me called HIGH. It's a huge hit on Broadway right now. Can I buy $450 tickets from you or should I just pay the average price of $19 at the box office? I'm torn.

kz, if you took the time to read around this site instead of joining and immediately posting, you would find that nobody on this site uses brokers. So your post came off as blatant advertisement from someone who has no clue about the people who are on these boards. That's why you are getting slammed the way you are.
Most sites allow you to pick your seat and if you knew your NY theaters, you would know that front row center isn't always the best seat in the house.

scalp (skalp)

2. A portion of this skin with its attached hair, cut from a body especially as a battle trophy or as proof in claiming a bounty.
3. A piece of hide from the skull of certain animals, such as the fox, shown as proof of killing in order to collect a bounty.
4. A trophy of victory.
v. scalped, scalp·ing, scalps
v.tr.
1. To cut or tear the scalp from.
2. To deprive of top growth or a top layer: land scalped by strip miners.
3. To resell at a price higher than the established value

That is exactly what you are doing. Sorry to burst your bubble (only I'm not), but You. Are. A. Scalper. The only reason your tickets aren't available at the box office is because you bought them first. You are creating a false demand. That is not real economics.

#22Theater Tickets Broadway
Posted: 4/21/11 at 11:36am
No, because a car dealership sells a car for the established value.
Real ticketing websites like Ticketmaster and Telecharge sell tickets for the established value, then add a relatively small service fee on top for their services.
You are selling tickets for three times the established value.

relatively small service fee??????? Have you bought tickets on TicketMaster in the past 5 years? HAH!
And go to a used car dealership and try to figure out why 3-5 year old cars are about the same price as brand new ones.
Some tickets on ticket websites are at face value, some times less, some times 3 times... it depends on who is selling them! Not all of them are 3 x higher. I have been in the business for 8 years now. Don't tell me I don't know what I am talking about. And by the way, you don't even know what my site / business is. You're speculating that the theater ticket website is mine. It's not!

"Real ticketing websites like Ticketmaster and Telecharge sell tickets for the established value, then add a relatively small service fee on top for their services."
At times I feel the service fee from Ticketmaster is not that small. I pick out my own tickets. I print my own tickets and they charge quite a bit for that.
I am not putting it in the same league as the scheister here trying to sell his tickets but Ticketmaster ticks me off too.
And tiki no one is buying your tickets here so for a first day you post more then people who have been on a long time. Why not give it a rest and find another site to scalp your tickets.
