Any ideas or examples of what you've done in the past?

I'm not going out this year.
So I guess that would mean I'm actually going as Donna Murphy.

Posted: 10/10/04 at 10:42ammy friend and I are gonna be in the halloween villiage parade =)

LOL Matt!! Well done.
#8re: Theater related Halloween costumes?
Posted: 10/10/04 at 10:57amThat was uncalled for. Again, why must everyone turn everything into Donna bashing? I almost understand if you are bitter that you missed a magnificent performance in "Wonderful Town" but it's really getting old. That comment had nothing to do with this thread, as mine does now. If you feel the need to discuss Donna Murphy's abscences, at least do so on a thread that has SOMETHING to do with it.

Oh give it rest, honey. I've seen Donna in everything she's done now for the past decade. I love her to death and shouldn't have to justify a simple joke to you.
And maybe after you've spent more than 6 days here, you can start telling me what to do.
#10re: Theater related Halloween costumes?
Posted: 10/10/04 at 11:03amI will not give it a rest. If you are going to make a joke, make a good one. With all of the bashing of Ms. Murphy, I can not understand why someone who has enjoyed her performances would make such a stupid joke.

Because I wanted to, that's why.
Unless you're sleeping with her or on her payroll you need to chill.

Wow, Ruth... bit defensive? Matt's comment was actually quite amusing... as a Donna fan myself I can still appreciate that.
I've been trying to find someone to go with me as Violet for years, but have failed miserably. Maybe this time...
My friend and I were planning on going as Edina (her) and Patsy (me), but... I don't think that's happening now. How unfortunate.
Perhaps I'll go as Donna Murphy as well... or better yet, Emily Skinner.
(Don't want to be stealing Matt's thunder or anything...)

Posted: 10/10/04 at 11:07amFrankly, that was a disgusting comment, and disrespectful to the performer for you even to suggest such a thing. I admit I have been defensive, and perhaps I do need to "chill." I just think it is disgraceful that so many people constantly bash one performer.

In a vain attempt to bring this thread back on topic, I'm going as Roger DeBris from The Producers. Yeah, I've said that a million (and one) times, but you guys just keep asking.

Posted: 10/10/04 at 11:24amI'm thinking about going as Sweeney Todd, the demon barber of Fleet Street! But I have to go to the Village for the parade (maybe I'll see you, SweetCaroline!) so I don't know if that will fit in with their theme; "Sweet"... hmmm...
#18re: Theater related Halloween costumes?
Posted: 10/10/04 at 11:37amI've gone as Joanne from Godspell in the past, but last year and this year I went/am going with movie costumes (Pippin from Lord of the Rings-my roommate was Merry-and Marty McFly from Back To The Future.) Updated On: 10/10/04 at 11:37 AM

Posted: 10/10/04 at 12:25pm2 years ago. My girlfriend,at the time, and I went as Sally and The Emcee from Cabaret, revival style. Lemme just say. Cold nights in Niagara Falls are not condusive to bare chests. I should have worn the Joel Grey costume instead, lol. It was worth it though.

I've been 'Jemima' from CATS, 'Christine Daae' from POTO...and I think that's all.
I'm going as Scarlett O'Hara from "Gone with the Wind" this year.
