Theaters Closing in January

Are there new shows already confirmed for the theaters that are closing in January?

re: Theaters Closing in January

You mean the shows that are closing? I haven't heard of any theaters closing.

I think some do have shows confirmed, others don't yet.

If you mean shows closing, you may want to do a search or scroll through the threads. There are a few on this subject.

re: Theaters Closing in January

The Nederlander, vacant since RENT closed in September, will host the Broadway revival of GUYS & DOLLS, while The Lyceum, vacant since (title of show) closed, will host the new musical VANITIES. Once SPAMALOT closes on January 11, the Shubert Theatre will host Coward's BLITHE SPIRIT, starring Broadway legend Angela Lansbury, and The Cort (as of January 20th) will host Will Ferrell's new show and its current resident (THE 39 STEPS) will be moving to the Helen Hayes on 44th (where TONY-nominated XANADU played). HAIR has the Hirschfeld (where CURTAINS and most recently, TALE OF TWO CITIES played), and The Booth Theatre, now home to Horton Foote's DIVIDING THE ESTATE will house Malcolm Gets and Will Chase in THE STORY OF MY LIFE, a new musical. As of this writing, the Neil Simon Theatre (where HAIRSPRAY's currently at) is going to be dark, and O'Neill (SPRING AWAKENING's home), as well.

I could be forgetting a few.

If Fela! or Road Show transfer, they would probably take the Eugene O' Neill.

Oh, right! I forogot those two...

If anything, I'm HOPING for a ROAD SHOW transfer.
That would be lovely, methinks. I just want a chance
to see it. Not to say FELA! doesn't have substance.
When it played 37Arts, I was going to make the venture,
but alas, opportunity never did knock loud enough.

I haven't heard *ANY* updates on FELA! since the Post's
write-up... I'm not surprised, just sayin'.
