I just came up with a great topic! What will the theaters be like in the future? Say like 50 to 100 years from now? Both onstage, backstage, and the auditorium itself? Maybe there will be seat massagers or robot ushers! lololol

Or toilets in the seats so you don't have to wait until intermission and nobody knows you're using it.....

Roofs will be phased out throughout the next few millienia until we revert back to street performances.
The audience members will be suspended above the stage in a giant net and rotated...Then every seat will be a good seat, except for the people at the bottom of the net...

The ones showing true quality theatre won't be in New York.

Or at least faster than the 1.5mph fall I saw!

No tix will probably be 500 bucks or something.
Well, hopefully, the US dollar will be worthless by then.
Considering the fact that theatre has changed VERY LITTLE in the last 100 years, I can't really see what another 100 would do.

Well how about 1000 years then?? Come on guys! Post ideas! This is a fun topic.
Jet packs?
And escalators instead of stairs? I dare say?

This is a comforting statement. Thank God.

Why? I think things can improve. Like some of the seat views and leg room. And another is the ushers, GAWD! some of them can be sooo mean.

Maybe when the broom comes up out of the trap door, it wont look so freeken obvious that theres someone under it, holding it.

Yea. The broom thing is stupid. It says in the script that the broom flies right into Elphabas` hand.

Intire sets will be made of fog machines.

Hopefully we'll never get to the point of virtual reality theater...then again...how cool would it be to be able to load a performance of say Fiddler on the Roof and have the option to choose from 15 different Tevyes and 15 Golde's and you can mix and match...and you would always have the best seat in the house. While it wouldn't replace live theater - it would definitely be pretty cool!
