Hey guys. Just wanted to post a quick link, I'm cleaning out my storage boxes and am selling some of my old theatre memorabilia. Just don't have the space anymore and honestly, I think it's some pretty cool stuff that should probably be owned by someone who has the space and desire to display it.
No lectures, please, just check it out if you're interested, and if not, feel free to ignore me. :)

What's in Mimi's stash?

Posted: 12/16/12 at 10:07amThanks PJ, you know, I always wondered that myself. I think it's some kind of mixture of salt and sugar, but I can't say I've ever taste-tested. Who knows, maybe it's the real deal and somebody's getting a really good price on it.

Thanks, dave. :) I noticed there are some sellers on ebay who have multiple copies (3 or more) of posters signed by the full casts of some of the current shows on Broadway, and sell them for outrageous prices (for example, there is a DROOD poster up right now that is almost 300$, I believe).
I always wondered where people get so many complete cast-signed posters. I only have a handful of those myself, and they were either gifts or fairly difficult to complete, so I can't imagine parting with them.

Posted: 12/18/12 at 11:49amI do seriously wonder about my question re: posters though. How the hell do people get like 5 or more copies of a full cast signed poster when a show has 20+ people in the cast?

I think some of the posters are called "full cast" but actually aren't. I think a lot of people wouldn't notice if there are 25 signatures rather than 27. As you said, it can be extremely difficult to get a true complete cast.
I think some of the posters come from Broadway Cares fundraising, and some are just obtained at the stage door. I've seen people ask cast members to sign 2 posters at once. Sure, it's a nuisance to go back multiple times to get an almost complete cast, but that's where the prices of $250 or $300 a poster come in.

I guess that's true! If I were going to pay over 100$ for a poster though, you'd better believe I would check that the signatures were all there and were what the seller said they were. I don't really collect autographs though, so I've never really spent big money on them.
But I guess most people on ebay won't really notice if you're missing a swing or an ensemble member here or there.

I wonder how many actors sign at the stage door all the while thinking: "How long before this is up on ebay"
