Which one do you think will house the new Sweeney Todd revival?
Its been said the Eugene O'Neil -- but having seen the production in London -- I would advocate a smaller house -- the Broadhurst or the Music Box.

what's currently playing at the Eugene O'Neil...is it Good Vibrations?

Yes, Good Vibrations is currently at the O'Neill. 700 Sundays is currently at the Broadhurst and Dame Edna is at the Music Box. I know Sweeney is opening a while off, and we're all pretty sure that Good Vibrations' fate is sealed, but are Dame or 700 Sundays closing anytime soon?
I believe both DAME and SUNDAYS are closing in 2 months.
Is the Eugene O'Neil really at all much bigger than the Broadhurst?

They're about the same size, I think. Isn't the Helen Hayes nice and tiny?
Yes, but how would a musical make ANY money at the teeney tiny Helen Hayes?

But...it's a tiny musical...
*is tired*
The Music Box has a Seating Capacity of 1010
The Eugene O'Neill has a Seating Capacity of 1108
The Broadhurst has a seating capacity of 1173 to 1218
The Helen Hayes Theatre has seating capacity of 499, which makes it Broadway's smallest house. (After all it was called The Little Theatre before it was renamed).

I think the Belasco would be ideal.
I second the Belasco or the Music Box.

Actually you are right Mattio -- it would be great
The Belasco has a seating capacity of 990 to 1042. How long is Julius Caesar scheduled to run?
hmm..the belasco seems like a good one.
But at least we know that Eugene O'Neil will be free soon.

I think the Belasco would be ideal because of its relatively small size and gothic feel. Just something to make Sweeney even scarier.
And the Belasco's summer crop of mosquitos will have died by the time Sweeney begins performances.

You "experts" crack me up. You don’t know jack. My sources (and they’re impeccable ones) tell me Good Vibrations’ has no intention of closing anytime soon and that its gross may well end being up by as much as 25% this week.
i think the plymouth might be opened up by the time this opens.

Circle in the Square. Saw the last Broadway mounting of Sweeney, which was housed there and the production was wonderful. Staging was so awesome, very dark & scary and quite intimate.

Music Box just does NOT have enough seats. They'll choose somewhere else.
Since this Sweeney features a cast of - what? - nine or ten people, with the actors doubling as the orchestra, it's small enough to be cost effective in a small theatre like the Music Box.

the music box would be a good choice considering the size of the cast and the fact that dame edna will be gone.
if roundabout was still involved studio 54 would have been ideal.

I'm sure they're expecting A LOT of ticket sales and a GREAT amount of audience members. The Music Box is SOOOOO small for the audience.
