The Majestic
Hasn't had a new hit show open in almost 30 years!

I'd even argue the Winter Garden

Yeah, Mamma Mia was a bomb. I am so glad I didn't invest in that.

Longacre, though I loved Allegiance endearingly?

I think I read somewhere that the longest running show at the Longacre in many years was La Cage Aux Folles - I believe it ran for about 1 year.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on this, but I don't think the Marquis has ever had a financially successful show since it opened.

The Marquis has seen its special events tenants do far better than its legit musical tenants in recent memory, but it's not entirely without a hit. The revival of Annie Get Your Gun had recouped by the time Susan Lucci (the first replacement) left, which gave the Weisslers the ability to weather a slow period during the fall of 2000 while Cheryl Ladd was starring, confident that when Reba McEntire took over the following January it would be well worth the investment (which it was, the average weekly gross during Reba's run was about $28,000 higher than it had been while Bernadette was in the show, and it has been speculated that if Reba's schedule had been clear at the time the Weisslers would have had her open the revival instead of Bernadette).
So it has been awhile, but the Marquis did have at least one musical recoup.

I'm shocked that Thoroughly Modern Mille never recouped. It ran for 2 years.

J/ H ran for about 4 years and did not recoup I believe.

With Cats opening up this summer I would wager that it would end the Neil Simon's loosing streak.

There is no guarantee that Cats will be a hit this time around. I am still trying to figure out why it was when it originally opened.

To my understanding the Lyceum hasn't had a hit in quite sometime either.

Wasn't Venus in Fur a hit?

Lyceum just had A View from the Bridge which I thought was one. The Visit was a critical hit, not a financial one though previously.

Me and My Girl was forced to close earlier than it should have to make way for the mega hit Nick and Nora, I believe. That did not work out to well
