Aw, she watched Liza with a "Z" with her late Mother. How sweet. And Chita. Gosh, you gotta admit, she's got a big heart. This show, however, was a trainwreck.

That's not the only part of her that's big...
Whoa! Don't hate me folks, don't hate me! I'll be in Altoona 'til Wednesday. Up next, Clay Aiken will have a minute and a half conversation with me in his Spamalot costume for no reason whatsoever!
She should have stepped back and let Liza and Chita open the show together. That would have been must see TV.
I still stand by my opinion that Liza would have fared better if Rosie wasn't warbling off-key next to her.

Years ago in a world not so far away a woman hosted a talk show. This woman had guests on her show that no one had seen before, Chita, Patti, Vanessa Williams, the list goes on.. this woman showed scenes from Broadway shows . Broadway shows wer'nt doing so well , but this woman turned things arond greatly,, she even hosted the Tony Awards and brought those shows their highest raightings ,, Her name was ROSIE ODONNELL

I kind of pictured Don LaFontaine reading your post.

I think she would have done better to produce the show, but not be the host. Big Gay Sketch Show is kinda funny:)
I also think Rosie decided since she wanted to be "America's Sweetheart" again, all she had to do was turn it on. MANY, many folk had been totally turned off of the Rosie Trainride for quite some time now, and it was going to take more than her smile to turn that around.

She needs to get herself back out there in other ways. Some self-deprecating viral videos would do the trick, and I don't mean her talking into her webcam on a blog.
That poem says it all. It's all about her fulfilling her dream. She got to sing with Liza. Good for her.
Did she remember there was a TV audience tuning in who didn't care about her lifelong dream that night? They were hoping (against hope) to be entertained. And Rosie can't sing.
She forgot her #1 concern should have been the quality of the show.
... not the fulfillment of her childhood fantasies.
So she fed her "narcissistic beast," and we all (well, the 20 of us who tuned in apparently) had to suffer through it.
Next time (if there ever is a next time) she should do a show for us, not for her. We weren't there with her in 1972, so why would a tone-deaf duet mean anything more to us than a tone-deaf duet?
This guy said it for me.
"Rosie, a supposed stand-up comic, was stiff and unfunny. Alec Baldwin, Jane Krakowski, Harry Connick Jr, Clay Aiken, and Kathy Griffin, who could have made for a good show if properly used, were paraded on and off in seconds while prime time was given to bland and boring pop tunes from Neo (wtf?) and Alanis Morissette (unintelligible – I couldn’t understand a word she was singing) and weird unknown vaudeville-type acts."

I loved the endless loop of flying geese behind Alanis.
"and it was going to take more than her smile to turn that around."
You know something? I don't even think her smile looks genuine. I never saw someone with such an "unsmiley" smile. Looks kind of fierce.
I would call it a grimace.

A haunted house of teeth.
Haha, you guys!
"I would call it a grimace."
Naw, a grimace is a big purple harry blob-like creature who's pals with Ronald McDonald. He makes me smile. :)
Rosie sneers when she smiles. There is no joy or genuine warmth in her eyes. She makes me frown.
"Rosie sneers when she smiles."
Yes, that's what I was trying to say. Her smile is a big sneer.
