Did you know, Amanda was originally going to play Regina in Mean Girls, but then they found her better fit for Karen.

re: They Casted 'Sophie' for the Mamma Mia Movie!

I'm a little skeptical about Seyfried actually being cast.

The producers looked at just about every teen staple (from Mandy Moore to Rachel McAdams) for Sophie, and with no shortage of well known actresses wanting the role I find it hard to believe they'd go with someone as unknown as Seyfried (considering they want to stack the deck as heavily as they can with at least recognizable names.)

Another thing that would raise a red flag in my mind is the fact that all of the reports of Seyfried's casting have been internet websites claiming that the news (along with the casting of Brosnan) has been reported by the trades.

I haven't read Seyfriend's name in any trade. Variety (considered the most reliable of the bunch) ran an article on Brosnan's casting this past week, and considering Seyfried's name is being mention along with his in almost every article reporting this rumor, why wouldn't Variety have confirmed both reports simultaneously?

I'll believe it when the studio confirms it. While I have enjoyed Seyfriend in the few things I've seen her in, I'd find her a bit young for Sophie (she still looks like she could be in high school.)

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

see this is why im iffy about her being cast...everyone connects her to mean girls...unless she does a 360 and plays this amazingly well..how people look at her could be changed

...but her agents told her that it would give her a bad name, and it isn't the right time in her career for her to play a bitch.

I've never heard of the kid, if that helps.

re: They Casted 'Sophie' for the Mamma Mia Movie!

I hope you meant a 180 degree turn...because a 360 would obviously just set her back at the beginning....

and has ANYONE seen her in BIG LOVE? She is amazing, and much different than her role in "Mean Girls." Lets use some imagination. She is a talented actor, and I am sure has some versatility....Its like if you assumed Merly Streep would be playing Donna as if she was the editor of a fashion magazine.
