Why would anyone bother investing in a Bare revival? It would flop faster than Lestat. Um.. it seems to me that it has a pretty darn solid fanbase (small perhaps, but solid), and from what I've heard it really did quite well when it was off Broadway :) Sometimes fluke things just happen and shows can't get Broadway runs even if they sell well off Broadway and get good reviews, but that doesn't mean that they can't be revived and do well. Bare is honestly one of the best
written shows I know of (in terms of the actual script itself). Sure, there are little parts here and there that can be tweaked, and some of the staging and/or set could be tighter, but over all it had been a VERY solid show that I think would do well. Unfortunately, now with Spring Awakening it would be hard because it has a LOT of parallels to SA. But if it weren't for that, I really do feel like Bare would have a decent shot.
But again, I was mainly just expressing my dream world- I'm well aware that there's pretty much no chance it'll happen at this point. I still have hopes for
some time in the future though!
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
