This thread made me rewatch Jen Holliday at the 82 Tonys...wow, SHE is the best. fabulous voice, and heart breaking performance...no one can hang!

Jennifer Holliday's "And I Am Telling You" in '82? Perfection.

Jennifer Holliday's "And I Am Telling You" recently? Not so much.

Unpopular opinion time: I like Tamyra Gray's version more than Jennifer Hudson's. Tamyra would obviously be wrong for the part, but she did sing the crap out of it in that H & M ad.

The Jennifer Hudson & Jennifer Holiday performance was possibly the worst thing I have ever seen. Does Holiday think all the growling sounds good? Personally I thought it was sad to see how much her performance of the song has changed since the Tonys in '82.

By far not the best performance, he's on key, but he's far to nasal.
