Sorry, we're not handing out Academy Awards today.

We may not have seen it but we've heard it, which is a sad state of affairs.
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."

"I truly believe that if the reviews were positive, most people would "like" it. I didn't LOVE it, but I liked it, and sometimes reviews can hinder those opioniated individuals' perception of a show... "

I know many, many people who have seen it BEFORE reviews came out and said they hated it. Others who don't read reviews hated it. And believe it or not the ones who have read reviews are still smart enough to make their own decisions to figure out if the like it or not.

Just watch when a new show opens and the reviews come out. MANY people disagree with them. They think some are too kind (Spamalot) and some are to harsh (DRS) and others for the most part are on the money (Little Women). That doesn't mean we agree with them. People are intelligent enough to form their own opinions.

I saw the second preview, and I hated it. Obviously, reviews played no part in my decision to dislike it. The material does a pretty good job doing that.

Oh I sure will!

And you enjoy doing whatever you happen to be doing as well!

And then we'll have a day of enjoyment, and there won't be any need for tears!

Reviews have absolutely nothing to do with whether I like a show or not. THE PRODUCERS got raves and I hated it. TABOO was trashed and I loved it.

With that said, I saw BROOKLYN as well and thought it was an abomination.

To those who have not seen it yet: consider yourself wise.

Those people waiting at the stage door for signatures from the cast after the show should be there waiting for apologies.

I'd go so far as to say refunds.

Brooklyn DEFINITELY is not trash... its not even close to amazing, but it was def. an enjoyable night at the theater. I see all kinds of theater, all over, and I can honestly say I could have watched Eden Espinosa sing Once Upon a Time for the whole 2 hours. And I really enjoyed the set and costumes, they were very well done. The music isn't 'memorable' but a lot of shows on bway aren't these days. Flame away if you like, but thats just my opinion. And on a side note, I think anyone who goes around on a message bored calling a bway show trash is something resembling obnoxious... of course, how this thread started was a little stupid too.

There is no way you could hear Eden sing "Once Upon a Time" for an entire two hours. I think somewhere around 30 minutes into if your ears would start to bleed and you'd probably loose your hearing.

On the good side, maybe if you listened to it over and over you might actually get a grasp on how god-awful the lyrics are.

So...What, Darlin'? Every show is good? We're not supposed to talk about the sh*t, just the good?

I love it when people complain about complaining.

I saw the show and thought the voices were amazing, but that the show was absolute dreck. My guess is that those who love it are quite young and used to the "start slow and end screaming" formula.
