So I've recently become very intrigued by Vanities. At first I brushed it aside, but recently I've been listening to songs on youtube and i actually really like it. The cast sounds fantastic and the songs and bits of dialogue I've heard are both funny and touching. So now I'm really excited for it and I hope it is good. What are your thought on it.
However, I am worried about how successful it will be. Its a small show, that is not based on anything famous and it does not have a well known cast. I'm worried that it will not do well in this economy. What do you think about that?

There's really no chances of this being a hit...I don't even feel that much of a buildup for it on the board and this is a BROADWAY related board. I doubt it'll do well.
But of course, I hope it will...any hit nowadays is worthy of cheering.
The chances of Vanities doing well are quite slim. The score is tuneful, I enjoy it, though a little generic. The book, while being updated from Heifners original play, has some interesting nuances. The characters take wonderful journey. Though you never know; it could very well surprise us (in terms of attendance).

I too have been loving the YouTube songs. I'll definitely be checking this out, the cast is great!
