They are traditionally the most available seats, particularly if you are willing to take a chance and hope for the best at the last minute. As much as I dislike recommending this, you might try to get tickets "on ice," but they are prohibitively expensive and wouldn't be worth your while, no matter how much you love your wife.

On yesterday's TimesTalk, when asked about the cast recording, NPH said: "We're not running this for a year. There's a short, limited window of my doing it. So, it seems like it would have to happen quickly and it would only be for a short period of time. There's benefits to that, i think, but also intrinsic risks involved... but hopefully."
Trask said, "Stay tuned." But before NPH, JCM was ready to reveal the details until they said they weren't allowed to, at which point he merely nodded like "Yes, of course, it will happen..." but then said, "I didn't say anything, I just gestured!"
So, looks like NPH is indeed limited, although we don't know for sure if it will be only through August or not, but a cast recording is likely.

Doubt Lambert will be the same type of draw as NPH
Once he leaves, I think the show closes. Same with If/When . Once Idina goes, the show closes.

Was at TimesTalk last night , and you sort of got the sense that the show would end in August--- definitely got the sense that if it did extend, it would be without NPH
That being said, the show is good enough, and received so many positive reviews, that they could definitely keep it going with a replacement that would draw ppl to the theatre.
Roxy---- don't think you can compare it to "If/Then" --

Posted: 5/21/14 at 7:21pmThat was the plan all along, as he said even before this began he is doing it through August. If they extend they will need another really big name. Adam Lambert isn't big enough, IMO.

I'd die to see Cervaris do this again. In my mind, he would still be perfect. But he wouldn't draw names.
Not that I'm suggesting it (nor do I think he would excel in a role like this), but Jesse Tyler Ferguson seems to like spending his summers in New York. But I don't think this is his return-to-broadway role, even if people would come to see him.

"Jesse Tyler Ferguson seems to like spending his summers in New York."
Not to mention, NPH runs through mid-August, so although he does have the requisite three names, Jesse would have to wait until the show was kept open until next spring for your plan to work, as he'll be back shooting Modern Family by then.

Posted: 5/21/14 at 10:54pmI was looking for tix...and I went through about mid July and could only find singleton tickets. Grr....I don't want to miss this one!

I can't see Jesse Tyler Ferguson in this role either. You need someone who can handle savagery and humor with some amount of pathos as well.
Like, Eric Stonestreet is the worst possible idea for a Hedwig, but even he'd play the character better than Ferguson would, because he has a better grip on absurd tragicomedy.

Posted: 5/22/14 at 1:53amThis may sound completely bizarre but what about J Groff?

NO to either Groff and especially Ferguson (Not right at all!) I mean, Really?

Posted: 5/22/14 at 9:53amWhat about Andrew Rannells as a replacement? I'm pretty sure Girls is filming now and will be done by August. I think he may be enough of a name at this point to sell decently well too. I also could see him being really great in the role. He covered "The Origin of Love" a couple years back and it sounds great.

Aziz Ansari, Tracy Morgan, Ray Romano.
We're all just saying the names of other males who have appeared on network TV, right?

^^^ LOL. Yeah, all of these sound like joke suggestions.
Larry David? Daniel Dae Kim? Patton Oswalt? Kid Rock?

I would buy a premium ticket to see Larry David as Hedwig.
I do fear I might be in a huge minority, though.

Posted: 5/22/14 at 4:39pmGod no, I would totally pay to see him do that, or anything!
