Threepenny Opera

I know that Alan Cumming have signed on for this revival. Have there been another other news about other cast members?

"Tony Award winner Alan Cumming (Caberet) is back as Mac the Knife... Joining the dream cast is Emmy Award and Golden Globe winner Edie Falco (the Sopranos) and rising recording star Nellie McKay. Scott Elliott, who recently helmed the off-Broadway hit Hurlyburly and Roundabout's The Women directs."

I just got my Roundabout mailer yesterday, and I'll be looking forward to this production, Spring, 2006 at Studio 54.

re: Die Dreigroschenoper

Nellie McKay as Polly? Interesting. I've always heard Polly sung as a soprano. Nellie has a low, sexy, smoky voice, so it will be interesting to hear her sing this part.

Nellie McKay has a higher sweet sounding voice that she can make sound low and sexy... I don't think she's all that untraditional...either way this is exciting!

had no idea Falco could sing. Looking forward to this, as i missed the Sting one and the Raul Julia one (most of you are probably too young to remember those) and also the Betty Buckley more recent one...
