Three Oliviers. Best Musical. Best Actress. Best Supporting Actor.
Maybe we could import "Legally Blonde" the hit London musical and let it have the run it deserves on Broadway.
Just a thought...

It got the run it "deserved". When enough people stopped going, it closed.
Sheesh.
Note: I'm not a hater, I thought it was entertaining.

Legally Blonde was a fun show, and it's been immortalized on our computer screens by MTV. Because of that, it's actually very popular among kids my age (late teens) so I'd say there's really no point in it coming back to Broadway. Why go see a revival if we can watch the original from three years ago?
I never thought it was given the shot it deserved at the Best New Musical Tony (a nomination, if nothing else) but otherwise I'm happy with how it ended up. It was a fun bit of Broadway pop, and it played for as long as it could have been expected to.

It was based on a film that was a huge hit, the material was clever, the performances were top-notch and it was just a whole lot of fun. It had a huge amount of tourist appeal. It certainly deserved a best musical nomination and a longer run.

After seeing both productions, I felt the Broadway production suffered from a lack of a true star in Elle (Bundy was cute, but didn't resonate) and the Palace was simply way too big for the show. In London, they learned from their mistakes on Broadway and turned Legally Blonde into the show it should have been...classic musical comedy. They didn't make a lot of major changes, just smart ones. It was tighter, funnier, and more vibrant. Still, I thought it was a better show than Cry-Baby or Passing Strange.
