Jeremy Kushnier? I see him every night at the bar I hang out at, he's great.

yay for Jeremy love. Not sure if I could see him in TTB, though. Hm. And Adam. Yeah, that's still a no. He's not THAT good just yet. re: Tick, Tick, Boom!
And no matter what, that part will always be Raúl's. Those songs will never sound more beautiful.

hmmm.... just a thought, but Norbert, perhaps?

*rolls eyes for Viva*

I don't know that I would really roll my eyes though... maybe bang my head on the wall from frustration?

No, you probably think I'm nuts but, I think Norbert is too confident of a person.

I was going to say Norbert but I thought the same thing.

Adam... no way. No.

What the F*CK is that supposed to mean? Obviously - that's why it's called acting - i can't believe you actually said that. Kinda funny.

But if he's as good an actor as everyone says he is (never seen him, unfortunately...) then wouldn't that not matter? *confused*

edit: MNIL, like the wooden statue drawing? Wrong like that? re: Tick, Tick, Boom!
Sorry, had to.

Yes. I'm being crucified as we speak in the Caroline thread for something I meant as ajoke, but people are taking it so personally. It's funny. I'm going out to Duane Reede now to buy peanuts.

Emcee, I'm going to try to explain for you! I know I was going to have to go further into this...
I do agree that it is "acting" but as an actor, I also believe that everyone puts a bit of themselves in every character they portray.
I mean, if you are just looking at confidence, clearly the Incredible Esparza has a great deal of confidence, he just radiates it. But, when he is just being himself, he is more reserved and quiet.
Norbert however, on the occaisions I have met him, just walks like he owns the world. He makes no apologies for who he is, and I think he lacks a certain vulnerability that someone like Raúl Esparza has. Which is what made him so great as Jon. There are so many times in TTB where Jon is evaluating his life and wondering if he's doing the right thing, and if he has what it takes.
I just think it would be hard for someone like Norbert to play a character who has to doubt himself, when it seems as though he never has to doubt himself. If you ask me, I think Norber KNOWS he is talented. There is nothing wrong with that. "When you got it, you got it." But Raúl, he often seems surprised that people think of him as the Incredible Esparza.

I agree with what you're saying about them personality-wise, and that's one of the things that I love so much about Raúl. But, I'm not sure how much I really see confidence being so much of an issue in playing an under-confident character, if you really, truly are a talented actor. Maybe it wouldn't work as well as it would with someone like Raúl who is naturally shy, but it probably would work. Hopefully that makes sense. re: Tick, Tick, Boom!

blah

blah

bottom line - it's called acting. if norbert really is talented, he could overcome his excessive confidence onstage - that you say he has. Have you even been around him that long to actually know? Tonya Pinkins has an INCREDIBLE amount of confidence - look what she did on stage in Caroline. Magic. Same with antonio in NINE.

I have only met Norbert a few times. I am certainly not claiming to know his personality, all I'm saying is that I picked up him to be very confident, secure, and unapologetic. Antonio was actually very reserved when I met him. I'm just calling it how I see it, I made the statement knowing people wouldn't agree. I'm not asking you to see it my way, It's just how I felt, and I was trying to be more clear while putting in my two cents.

Ahem, right, back to the topic at hand ::fwahahaha::

Well, Raul will ALWAYS rock the recording for me. I love his voice.

Back off topic. Can the great Adam-ini dance? He was hilarious in School of Rock and in SLC PUNK!

::Adam speaking in Brittish accent:: Its a great land!
