Ticketmaster dumps 'hated' Captcha verification system

The world's largest online ticket retailer is to stop requiring users to enter hard-to-read words in order to prove they are human.

Captcha - which asks users to type in words to prove they are not robots trying to cheat the system - is used on many sites.

But Ticketmaster has moved to ditch it in favour of a simpler system.

I once got one that had a bunch a lines but literally no letters or numbers.

Captcha is the least of Telecharge's website problems right now. A complete FAIL.

^ Agreed. I'd rather harp on getting Telecharge to let us pick our seats. Once they master that big glaring need, they can consider moving on to more subtle issues. |

But since the new Telecharge doesn't let you pick your own seats (well, sort of for a handful of shows) you have to enter a verification code every time you request the next available and usually awful seat(s). Makes a slow, irritating mess even more so.

Telecharge/BroadwayOffers needs to let us pick our own seats when using a discount code. At least for the shows that let you pick your own seat when not using a code.

Another thread mentioned it (thanks to whoever it was), but using www2.telecharge.com will take you directly to the old site.

But that Ticketmaster was getting ridiculous, it was words next to a tiny picture at some point. So bizarre.

Last weekend the Captcha would not work at all on mobile or on the desktop computer, so I just said, "Fine, have it your way TM. I'll find a friend with student ID or just take myself to TKTS and pay less anyway and the production will make less money because your Captcha system wouldn't work. Great going."
