Wow, the very end of the show is so intense, even just on DVD. I love it. Hearn and Lansbury really do pull through with the intensity in those scenes. I am on edge.

Why rape Sondheim and send it mainstream?
Oh god, they better not **** this one up.
Even if Johnny can sing, Sweeney is one of the most difficult scores ever written!

i was listening to the radio.. and they were talking about johnny depp being sweeney todd.. but they said sweety todd.. and then they started talking about sweety todd and like.. sweets ... and the chocolate factory... and i was like... wow..

Sweeney is too meaty, no pun intended, even for Burton and Depp.

That's AWFUL!!! This uneducated America is talking about "Sweetey" Todd, making jokes about something they don't understand, and disgracing a wonderful piece of work.

I hope that if Burton and Depp do end up with the film, they make a wonderful homage to Sondheim's original play, not destroy it in the process of making a movie.
