A tad more diverse than Brantley and Isherwood's, though Hamilton obviously still tops the charts. Happily, plays and Off-Broadway productions dominate the list!

Transfers like Fun Home and Hand to God were not included.

It's sad that SOMETHING ROTTEN made the top 10. What a terrible production. I expected it to be as funny as Spamalot. Not even close. Just a tacky abysmal show.

I disagree. Loved Rotten. One of my all-time faves? No. One of my favorites of 2015? Absolutely.

If anything, I'm surprised that the bore that was Wolf Hall made it.

One person thinks Something Rotten was bad! Another thinks it was great! Why, it's almost like these things are subjective.

Seeing Something Rotten! after seeing On The Twentieth Centuryjust made me see the flaws in it so clearly. Musical comedies should take just as much effort to make as a drama, and seeing an old school musical comedy makes you appreciate the care that really went into making them. Rotten just felt lazy and stitched together. They wanted a Spamalot or a Producers or a Book of Mormon and it's obvious that's what they were emulating but it felt just like an impression of those superior shows rather than it's own.

^ Absolutely. Something rotten had no spontaneity. It tried so hard to be spamalot and book of mormon that is was completely void of any spark and freshness that spam and mormon had.

I don't agree that Something Rotten! should be there either, but David Cote raved about it in his review so it isn't surprising.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
