Why am I the only one who loves Starlight Express and isn't afraid to say it?!
I love Joseph too. No matter how much I bag on it, I love it. ::sigh of relief::
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."
*high fives CapnHook not only for being proud of liking a show no matter what but also because of the wonderful quote from the Tony awards that made me nearly wet myself when I heard it that night*
spider - I have yet to obtain a CD of the Jean Arthur/Boris Karloff cast recording. It's on my Christmas list.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Spider, I have The New Starlight Express recording and I absolutely adore it. It's one of the only musicals I can play in the car that my mom, brother, and I all know the words to like the back of our hands.

Shocked me to learn when I first discovered the Broadway.com message boards years ago that people actually DIDN'T like the show.

I have the option of doing Cinderella this summer, but i think I'd rather audition for something else, like Ragtime at one of the local theaters! i still listen to the CD occassionally, it just doesn't hold up.
Keep the peace, take care of each other, and may you find your promised land.

The original television version with Julie Andrews is about to be released on dvd, and I am going to get the day it comes out. Jule *freakin* Andrews in Cinderella

I LOVE Titanic. And I'm not really ashamed of my love for Wonderful Town, but I sure do get a lot of crap for liking from everyone I know (not on this board though, as of yet).
