The board postings are so long in the tooth. Please put a notice in theatre news letters and sites in London. The posting appear to be so anemic. It feels like there is so little there.

why would they want to? there is no lack of coverage of theatre in London, and the name of this site itself is disinvitational-would you look for robust discussion of Broadway on a site called West End World?

What other chat sites are there?
It appears that TheatreForum is the main London site and I've tried repeatedly to join (registration required) and consistently get a 504 timeout error. (I've tried using various browsers, OS's and internet access options [Comcast cable & Verizon LTE - so different DNS and internet routing] at different times.)
Sorry about bitching about that other site here, but there was absolutely no way for me to complain to them.
Any other good suggestions?

I know I have asked questions for my upcoming trip to London about some shows to possibly see and they were responded to pretty quickly.

I must have missed that email address. (update - just double-checked and there' no mention of it on the Theatre Forum site, nor mention that it's part of What's On Stage - although the top hat symbol should've been a clue, I guess) I had tried using the popular help@, info@, and admin@ addresses for theatreforum.com and all bounced.

I actually mean the West End chat board on this site. They could go on that section of this Web site. Will try again with TheatreForum. I tried whatsonstage.com and their gold club, which looks like the theatremania site. It is no way the same though. Not a papering service and some dates months away at high prices.

I understand why BWW might want to have a presence there, but you can build it but that doesn't mean they will come.

I have noticed that the West End section has posts, but fairly few responses to many of the threads. Speaking of the West End, I've discovered this very talented fellow from across the pond: Harry Francis. He has a YouTube Channel. This young guy has a very amusing clip from his days of touring with "Hairspray." His rendition of "The Caveman Song" is too funny for words.

The theatreforum website has had registration problems for months - among worries that whatsonstage will shut down the forum. It is a fairly vibrant board with several...personalities..some of whom do post here. And, yes, the posters on theatreforum are very well aware of BroadwayWorld and its West End board.
There has recently been actual communication with whatsonstage - and hopefully the registration problems will end.

the West End board used to be very lively, but it was basically killed off by some persistent idiots who chased away the interesting posters

Sounds something like the main board. You notice on the West End board, people there do not post as regularly. That being said, why would they come here when they rarely post on their own board?

I tried to register at Theatre Forum...twice. Each time, the registration process was stopped and I got an aol error message (Yes, AOL.).

whatsonstage (ok- actually Theatremania who owns whatsonstage) is shutting down theatreforum.com on February 12.

The news is posted on TheatreForum. It's an email from whatsonstage (presumably on instructions from Theatremania). Presumably, the inquiries about registration problems caused whatsonstage to examine continued maintenance of the forum.
"it does cost the company a not inconsiderable sum to maintain this facility even though we do not utilise it or engage with it in any way.
I fully understand that you would appreciate time to relocate your community and we have absolutely no intention of pulling the rug from under your feet and leaving you in the lurch.
Therefore please accept this email as formal notice that we will switch off the hosting of the current site in 28 days (Friday 12th February, 2016). I trust that this is ample time for you to regroup independently."
