Re: Patti LuPone as Diana Vreeland in Full Gallop
BTW, do we know how Mary Louise Wilson is doing? She's 94, but I hope she's keeping up well, and it would be great to see her on opening night

Two questions regarding Cynthia Erivo
inception said: "MidWestTheater said: "Jamie Lloyd has already mounted a production of passion at the Donmar back in 2010 with Elena Roger...I wonder if this does happen will it be that production. Kind of how he basically brought his Regents Park production of Evita to the west end. What colour paint did he dump on Giorgio at the end?"No no, he was a very traditional director back then. Which is why I think it will be a new production, his directing style has changed too much
Michael O'Haughey, the original Mary Sunshine
Does anyone know what he's been up to since his last appearance in Chicago at Long Beach in 1992?

Niche/offbeat but high quality Sondheim performances - what are your fav?
Maureen Moore's Rose in Gypsy, Joanna Riding's Charlotte in A Little Night Music, Jenna Russell's Cinderella in Into the Woods, Mary Millar's Sally in Follies, David Carroll's Robert in Company, Philip Quast and Phylicia Rashad in Sunday in the Park with George, Marin Mazzie's Beth in Merrily We Roll Along. In her show at the Carlyle, Elaine Stritch used to sing a wonderful "The Best Thing That Ever Has Happened to Me" and Barbara Walsh recorded a pretty stellar "Losing My Mind".
Audra McDonald and Danny Burstein Make Tony History!!!
lastmidnights said: "Saw Gypsy tonight. If Danny is nominated for this part, it is a crime against humanity that Dez Duron wasn't nominated for Maybe Happy Ending. I at least walked away from that show remembering his character."With the exception of the Lansbury revival, every production of Gypsy had their Herbie nominated for a Tony and Boyd Gaines even won. It's hardly a thankless role.
Paul Mescal & Rebecca Frecknall reunite in Death of a Salesman
Paul Mescal will lead a 2027 Lyttleton repertory season at the National Theatre, including ‘A Whistle in the Dark’ by Tom Murphy – Directed by Caitriona McLaughlin (in a co-production with Dublin’s Abbey Theatre). He’ll also play Biff in Arthur Miller’s ‘Death of a Salesman’ – Directed by Rebecca Fracknall. I think he mentioned it was a dream role of his and now curious to see who they'll cast as Willy

She would have been terrifying, funny, and incredibly sexy.At a minimum she would have sung it as well as or better thanDaly.Timing would have had to be in the 70s-80s, around the time of the Lansbury or Daly revivals, which was kind of a fallow period for Rita post-THE RITZ."Didn't Moreno play Rose together with her daughter in the early 90s? Maybe ...

If I'm not wrong he controversially cut the epilogue, among other things
Donmar revival of Passion
VintageSnarker said: "ellieptical said: "I didn't like David Thaxton when I saw him in Les Mis but he was an absolute wonder in this production."Bumping this old thread because I was curious if anyone else saw this production and had opinions. Even with the Olivier win, there doesn't seem to be any promotional footage online. After seeing him in Sunset Boulevard, I'm very curious about Thaxton's take though, of course, he looks very different as Max than he did in 2010 playing Giorgio."Sondhe...
Michael O'Haughey, original Mary Sunshine in Chicago
Does anyone know more about him? There's not much I can find online, apart from the fact that he was South-African, he played Mary Sunshine in several productions of Chicago from the Broadway premiere to the Long Beach revival (1992) and that during the 70s he used to sing in cabaret venues with his partner Anne Ault.
Donna Murphy, Scott Rudin, Hello, Dolly!
I assumed it was about her very recent widowhood.
Ken Page has passed away at 70
What a voice he had, he sang my favorite "Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat". What a terrible September
MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN On Broadway in 2025?
Does he enjoy it when his shows flop on Broadway? There's no other explanation
