I have to agree with NYBROADWAY

It's annoying to us to have this big signatures there. I want to read people's signatures, 'cause most of this signatures, tells a lot about people.
a bunch of pictures it's just a waste of bandwith.
you have your icon picture to show whatever you want

Ya know...someone's banner can tell a lot about a person too, PolisPol.

first of all as i stated before my banner is NOT taking making the message board wider. it's already that size. it goes exactly to the very edge of the message box. if the banner werent there the message box would still be that size.

a previous banner i did post WAS making the message board wider and i promptly deleted it. this is one is way smaller.

i am NOT CHANGING MY BANNER..GET OVER IT!!!!!!

I love WSS and I like that banner...
but it's very slow to load, and since I have seen it once, I don't need to download that every time.
it's slowing the messages.

Marquise, I'm not talking about the size, I'm talking about the weight of the file. its big, and not much compressed. if you have adsl it's ok, but if not, it's a very slow to download.

Marquise, your banner IS taking more of the window and I do have to scroll over to see other posts because of it.

Now, that being said, I'm not complaining (and others too) about banners in your sig. I'm simply saying they are too long. I love yours Marq and I loved WickedRocks too. I'm just saying at least attempt to resize it so it doesn't affect every thread you post. Truce??

I wanted to clear that up that I just thought people could resize instead of deleting. However, I have DSL, so the loading doesn't affect me.

I'm sorry I started my last few posts so mean-like. It just pissed me off when someone said they were pissed off because I started this on this board. I mean what a little thing to get pissed off from. But then again, I just got pissed off because he got pissed off. LOL. Oh, well, life goes on.

no problem. i really like this board. i just dont want it to become an unpleasant and stressful experience. i come on here to relax and enjoy and discuss and learn more about theatre i would really hate to leave because of nonsense.

My two cents:

Banners don't bother me.

I'm usually viewing this board on my 12" Laptop and I've never had to scroll across to read a post. Maybe I just have a better browser. Who knows? Marquise's WSS banner takes up no more space than his message on my screen viewed at 1024 x 768.

Who cares what board it is on - can't it just end already? The person who made this post made his/her point, and WickedRocks is fixing the problem. Obviously, if banners weren't allowed, then there wouldn't be a feature that allowed you to put one there! We can't please everyone here, so can't we just end the post here and get on with our lives?

thats the resolution i have my screen at: 1024x768 which is why i was saying that my banner doesnt take up anymore space than the actual message box.... Updated On: 8/30/04 at 02:53 AM

at home I use 1024 too, but the resolution of my palm clie is 640x480 so imagine if I have to scroll...

I turned off signatures long, long ago.

Granted, I hate picture signatures of any kind. It hurts my eyes to see rampant misuse and abuse of Photoshop. (5 years at a private art college will do that to you.)

I just turned off signatures as well. Delightfull!!! Thanks for the suggestion! I don't mind a short and sweet signature but IMO those banners were annoying and unecessary.

I don't like pictures in signatures either. It's okay at first but then everyone thinks they need one and it ends up getting aggitating. If there were size restrictions in place then it wouldn't be so bad.

I wasn't aware we could turn off the signatures though. Great feature!

I find the signature images a bit distracting, but I'm not complaining.

I have way more problems with people who do things like:


IDINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

with no spaces between the characters, so that it goes to the end of the internet horizon, forcing me to scroll for days.
