I used them to see If/Then. Brilliant company. The customer service was awesome, and the whole process was so simple, and easy. Not to mention the prices are amazing. Definitely consider using them! I know I will in the future.
Is this the replacement for the BroadwayBox app, which stopped working a while back? When you search BroadwayBox on iTunes, this is the first result...

Had a friend use it for Gentleman's Guide for 35 bucks. The app told her they would be in the balcony, but when they picked up the tix, they were for the rear orchestra.
I'd forgotten about the app until talking to her last night!

Well you pick which section you want tos it in, I chose rear balcony and hats what I got. When you select a section it tells you what the last few customers who bought tix for that section got so you have a good idea of where you'll be.

I have entered the three penny lottery for tickets to 3 Penny Opera through TodayTix. I haven't used them yet but am looking forward to the time that I do, the prices look great.
I've never understood the appeal of this app, since it's just using the same discount codes you can use yourself at any box office, but then again I live in the city. I suppose if someone wants to pay someone $5 to print out a code and use it at the box office before they come into the city then there's your market. But if a show is discounting, then I'm more likely to go to TKTS day of and get a better deal on better seats.
What this app really is is a mobile version of TKTS. Instead of waiting on a long TKTS line, you can just use the app for discounted (or full price) tickets. The other plus is that you do not need to wait in the Will Call line, they will have your ticket across the street from the theater -- you meet them there. Fast and easy. You do pay a $5 concierge fee, however. It's an app for those who want convienence (not to have to wait in lines).
I've used it a few times. The first experience was for THE GLASS MENAGERIE. I chose the Rear Mezz location and my seat was for the last row in the Mezz. Not a bad seat for that theater...but I felt that I could have gotten that seat a little cheaper elsewhere.
Second time was for ALL THE WAY. I chose the Rear Mezz location and my seat was towards the middle of the Rear Mezz, somewhat empty seats surrounded me.
I'm not sure if I will use them again. Probably only if I don't want to wait in line, or don't have time to print a BroadwayBox discount code and go to the box office my self.
Does anyone know why BroadwayBox stopped supporting its app? I used to like using it to show it to box office people without wasting paper printing out the offer...
I wouldn't be surprised if TodayTix (or whoever's behind it) didn't quietly put BroadwayBox's native app out to pasture. Or if BroadwayBox is behind TodayTix anyways.

I've used it a few times-
The first time was for Matilda, balcony seat. It was great except I was surrounded by a school group that drove me batty. Obviously not TodayTix fault.
The second time was for Once, when I went to pick up my tickets the envelope also contained a letter saying they were able to get my tickets for cheaper than they thought, so they gave me a discount code for that amount- which was awesome.
Third time was for Avenue Q- I purchased balcony seats and they gave me better tickets for orchestra.
It's handy for me because I work during rush/lottery/TKTS time, and I can go right from work to the theatre.

The BroadwayBox app still seems to be working on my phone. I used it just a couple weeks ago for to buy a ticket to If/Then, and looking at it now it's still showing me valid codes for other shows.
Hmm, it does seem to be working again... a few weeks ago, I tried using it on a few different days, and it would only show me Cabaret under Broadway listings, obviously with no discounts.

Could have been a temporary glitch. And if you have a smart phone running their app and something seems wrong you could always go directly to their website, they do have a mobile version of that as well.

Did broadway box take their app off the App Store? Can't find it anywhere
Hmmmm ... was planning to rush a couple of shows next weekend to fill out my trip (After Midnight, Gentleman's ... maybe Bullets). Wondering if I should just save myself the whole waking up early thing and do this instead?
There was a Today Tix dude all decked out in front of the very rained-out Cripple of Inishmaan tonight, do they help paper shows? Strangely, the balcony was packed completely tonight, but the mezzanine was like two rows and then almost nothing. Guess people didn't want to wait in the rain for TKTS.
It's not a papering service. It's a ticket broker. The tickets you receive have dollar amounts on them.
I've used it and I love it and I recommend it enthusiastically.
Should I SHOULD use it instead of bothering to get up early to rush or wait in line at TKTS?
Does anyone know when available tix get updated? Right now the app is offering tix through Wed the 21st....I'm looking for the 24th. Is it a standard update? A day at a time?
Any help is appreciated!
I believe they only sell for a certain block of time in the near future. So, you'll probably have to wait a few days for more days to be added. You can't buy too in advance.
Yes, that much is clear....I was asking if anyone noticed a pattern of when things move forward.
UPDATE: Since I had a specific date in mind, I've been watching the app and NOW can answer my own question. So for anyone else that is interested: each day the app updates with one new date. It (obviously) makes the present/finished day obsolete, then adds the new one.
Yes, the prices are similar to those you'd get through discounts online, but I found the process much less cumbersome. Yes, you don't know your actual seats until you get the tix, but that's not a big deal as I'm use to that from using TDF.
I usually like to pick up my tickets when I first get into the city, so having to wait until 1/2 hour will be a little "off" to me, but I'm sure it will be fine.
