Posted: 7/22/10 at 4:38pmVery disappointing concert today at Bryant Park. Except for "Chicago" and parts of "Rock of Ages", the concert was dull. A new show about "Eve" was lackluster and the one number from "A Little Night Music" was not great. I even saw concert-goers walk-out during performances. Constantine, who didn't bother to appear last year, had an attitude and gave the stagehands a hard time during the sound check. He should leave his attitude behind. I was expecting a great show like last weeks' but alas these shows were not of the same caliber.

Anyone know why it wasn't on Lite-FM(106.7) today?
I tuned in at around 12:50pm and listened for about 10-15 minutes and they were just playing their regular songs. The DJ didn't even mention anything about why the Bryant Park concert was not on.
I thought it was on their station every Thursday at 12:30?
Thanks,

Posted: 7/22/10 at 6:51pmI was pretty disappointed. I noticed Constantine's attitude and it completely turned me away, I thought he was supposed to be nice (that's what I've heard). I left after Chicago because I didn't want to sit through ROA and I couldn't stand the heat another second, I had been there since 10:30.

I was there- I enjoyed all the performances.
I hear there were some audio problems during sound check, maybe Constantine was concerned about that.
I didn't see people leaving, the place was packed and as Rock of Ages started lots of people crowded the stage.
Also I stood and talked with friends for a while after the event and Constantine was signing autographs and taking pictures long after everyone was gone.

Posted: 7/23/10 at 2:20amThe people that attend walk out all the time, it's not like it's a paid concert. People walk in and out, regardless if the show is good or not. The same thing happened last Thursday when I was there...

Posted: 7/23/10 at 10:31amAre the videos from Bryant Park always out of sync with the sound? Seems like this week's and last weeks have been. Or am I the only one having this problem?

Long time no post, but maybe someone remembers me!
Anyway, I have to respectfully disagree with the original opinion on this weeks Broadway in Bryant Park concert. The only act I didn't enjoy was Chicago--- it's the same old same old.
In contrast, Falling for Eve was pretty great. They showed some upbeat songs that actually compelled me to buy a ticket to the show this weekend.
Rock of Ages was fun and got the crowd for sure! They were standing on their feet, clapping and singing along.
A Little Night Music was only one song, but it was enjoyable. I thought it was a nicely mixed concert and that the crowd was involved. Just my opinion.

Here's a review from Stage Rush that mentions problems with the sound system yesterday: http://tinyurl.com/25vptsq I know that Constantine was frustrated with it- mic problems/inability to hear backing tracks, etc. and apparently it affected other performances as well.
I'm just happy that the casts are willing to come out before their shows and give free performances in rain, heat, etc. (tornado warnings... whaa??!!)
Not only is it good promo for the shows, but it's great for the public to get a slice of Broadway for free.
