I might actually see this when it comes to Hartford now.
This isn't Hewitt...? Just a model, or is he a stage actor?
In any case, this production's looking good. It's coming to Raleigh, NC as well.

how do they plan on dealing with all these animals. Also, why do shows just randomly start touring w/o any former broadway opening or anything? jw.
Some shows tour before Broadway anyway.
I am very happy for Tom!
He deserves it!
Anyone know what cities it is coming too? I didn't see it on the playbill article or it's website. Maybe I am just blind.

Oh okay, just wondering. how are they going to do all the animals?

Los Angeles is the only one I know.
not every show plays Broadway before touring. the show already had its world premiere in London. the animals were designed by the Jim Henson creature shop. they are being designed by Michael Curry for the tour...

i know this is coming to philly next year
Philly, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Hartford. That's all we know so far.
I've seen a costume sketch for one animal. Think LION KING style, yet much different. In fact, it's LION KING format, unique brand new style.
In fact, there is a Video on that website - and they show the costume puppets for the Tour:

It'll also be at Proctor's in Schenectady. I thought I read somewhere that the person who designed the puppets for the Lion King did Doolittle, too.
umm. YAY NANCY ANDERSON!
What is the deal with all the musicals being made from poorly received kiddie tuners from the late 60's (not exactly a golden age for film...)?
watched the video... what was with showing the ZAZU and TIMON puppets from LION KING? they just kinds threw those in among the other puppets from doolittle.... wierd.
Dr. Dolittle premiered in London in September of 1998, Borstalboy, seven years ago. so I'm going to say it was a little before the recent trend but maybe it started the trend... I dunno...
It's coming to Seattle to the 5th Avenue Theater...
