Tommy Tune Measuring Windows at the Palace Theatre

Was walking through Times Square today and saw something very weird. Tommy Tune and an assistant were measuring the display windows at the Palace Theatre. Mr. Tune, in army fatigues, was easily recognizable from (easily) 30 blocks away and was happy to oblige passersby with long conversations and photographs.

Any idea what he's doing at the Palace Theatre?

Hoping Legally Blonde will close so Dr. Dolittle will move in?

Oh yea, cause Dolittle would do so well there.

You could recognize him from thirty blocks away? How can you see anything that's thirty blocks away?

Emcee, just a sarcastic little joke about his height.

Maybe he's helping with Legally Blonde as a producer?

According to a recent playbill.com article he is working on a show called Turn of the Century with Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice (book authors of Jersey Boys). I don't understand why he would be specifically interested in The Palace though. I agree that he should be back on Broadway soon.

If he was having conversations with folks, why didn't you just ask him?

My guess is he's gone into the drapery business.

Or maybe this is his new obsession: WINDOWS MEASURING

He was credited in the last revival of Grease. Prehaps hes helping with the new one as well, which is currently using the theatre?

neddyfrank2 - It wasn't a joke! I'd love to see what he would do with Seussical or Once Upon A Mattress.

Would he take a match and burn Suessical, so as to not have to put anyone through it again?

Maybe he wants to do Grand Hotel again. I really want this to happen!

[wishfulthinking]Well, OBVIOUSLY, he is going to produce the Jim Dale Broadway Production of Busker Alley and is eyeing the Palace as a possible theatre![/wishfulthinking]

A revival of Grand Hotel helmed by Tommy Tune would be as good as it gets. I can only imagine all the possible exciting casting choices.

Legally Blonde doesn't start for awhile, maybe he's doing some limited-run thing starring himself!
