Who's Toni?

Or Tony. In my area, if your name is Antoinette, your nickname would be spelled Toni.
Dammit. I thought I'd finally arrived.
Toni is a bee-yotch I work with. I wouldnt nominate her for anything.
There are a million topics just like this but I hate posting links so...I guess you'll have to search.
I like the Ogilvy awards...the precurser to the Tonis.
BETTY!
I thought the TONI Awards were recognition given to the smartest, funniest and fastest posters at BWW.
Why, you little minx. *blush*
The TONI Awards are for best hair-do from a Broadway actress when exiting the stage door. Notice how many of the actress ladies wear sporty caps and hats when leaving the theatre. They wish to be ineligible for the TONIs.
Then Rath can never win a Toni award! How ironic!

Sumpin tells me you'll just end up with a cowboy hat and a suede jacket with fringe.

They used to be able to essentially "campaign" by sending Tony voters small gifts and things, but now, they can't do that anymore.
I heard Julia Roberts won a Toni for playing Elfable.
Wasn't Keifer Sutherland nominated for Featured Actor as Dr. Dillamond too?
I tell you, Kiefer Sutherland playing a goat would make me think twice about bestiality.

One of my first girl friends in high school was Toni G....., with an i, so I always thought that's how you spell the feminine variation of Anthony, until I got on to this board. So...
In answer to your question: yes they do.

Here's a link to the official website of the "TONY AWARDS." Note how they spell it. And note the trademark symbol next to the name. "TONY" is not only the "official" way to spell the title of these awards, it's the ONLY way to spell it. There is no other variation.

I think I won a Toni award. Isn't that the award you get for beating a dead horse of an old joke?
I've always said when I win my Tony, I will announce that it should be spelled with an I. Antoinette and all.
Yes, you may all boo me.

I recall when Julie Andrews was nominated for a Toni (It WAS a SPECTACULAR Perm!) and refused it, saying that her fellow performers hairdos had been "Egregiously overlooked"! Gosh, that got all the hairdressers in a twist.
