Tony Award for Theatre Education
#1Tony Award for Theatre Education

Just read on Playbill that this new Tony Award category for Education Excellence will be broadcast during the telecast. Only teachers K-12 are eligible. College professors and instructors are not eligible.
I can never get The League's rules and determinations. I think this new recognition is great but no broadcasting of the creative awards-and there are many-and no broadcasting of the Life Achievement award? Although I read there will be a musical number in Mr. Tune's honor. But they decide to give this award on the air.
Don't get leaving out college educators either but I guess there's some reason.

Joe Manganiello attended Carnegie Mellon University, I wonder if he'll be presenting the award.

Eva Noblezada's (Kim, Miss Saigon West End revival) teacher. I would have loved to see Florence Birdwell (Kelli and Kristin's voice teacher) win this award but I don't think she is eligible
