Last year, the host was announced on March 4.
Of course it doesn't have to be released next week, but it could be any time now.
Please let it be Billy Crystal or Rosie O' Donnell!
Oh, god, I hope they bring Elvis back.

I hope they do it by tomorrow so we can be totally burned out on the topic by April 15.

i know this would be copying off of the producers but I wouldn't mind seeing john lithgow and norbert leo butz
I believe that if you/you're show is nominated, you should NOT HOST. I'm hoping for ANYONE but Jackman or Lane.
PLEASE not Hugh Jackman.
Rosie! Rosie! Rosie!

And watch the dwindling audience dwindle even more. Let's face it folks, The Award Show Era is over, killed by pre-shows, red carpet shows, post-shows, PBS shows.
They might as well get it over with and run it pay per view at this point, because awards shows have jumped the shark.
I want Bernadette or Channing!!!
All im Hoping is that this does not also become the "Beyonce Awards"
But I would Love to see Carol Burnett and Julie Andrews again
or..... what about Harvey Fierstein??
I would like to see Julie Andrews or Whoopi...she had the stint on B-way this season.

as i said before, i'd like a cohosting by all the one-man show special events. billy crystal, whoopi, dame edna, i guess eve ensler... that would be fun to me. what if they had angela and julie and bernadette do it? i'd kill for any of them individually. or bsm, he's the actor's president. he could host.
BSM is an interesting idea!!!
I, also, am not wanting Hugh...

I want Rosie back too. That would be nice.

i don't think rosie will ever come back after the way broadway turned its back on her after all that she did for it. and i for one don't blame her.
that being said, it would be glorious if she chose to make a much needed come back.
Broadway didn't turn her back on her at all. Her shop flopped. I believe it would have flopped with or without her, but no one turned their back on her, especially the Broadway community - they have always embraced her.
I just wish they'd take the show off CBS and put it on cable somewhere. (Maybe Bravo?). Let the people who love the theatre do a show that honors theatre and stop all the non theatre crap that network shows demand.
Harvey or Brooke Shields.

Brooke would be a good idea. I just don't think Billy Crystal is a good idea, as itd appear the Tonys would be copying the Oscars. However, he is an excellent Oscar host, so why not?
How about Robin Williams? Kinda random, but why not?
Reno or the Lady Bunny.

I say Elaine Stritch or Carol Channing! Better yet-both!!!
Not Rosie. Please. I've had enough of her "singing" to last me three lifetimes.
Smart money's on Chris Rock, lol. Seriously, I like the suggestion about Brooke Shields.
timote - I'll tell you why not Robin Williams - he can't step back and allow the proceedings. He has to be in the light every second. He's not host material. He makes everything into a one-man show.

Wow-- I love the idea of moving the Tonys to Pay-per-view! Screw commericial concerns! The award show ratings have all been going down and I think the general public couldn't care less. The TOny audience is perfect for a PPV-- small but extremely well-motivated.
That way the Wing could forego any conditions foisted upon them by the networks and REALLY put on a show! Long pieces from EACH nominated show, really interesting host & presenters and a 20 minute tribute in honor of Sondheim's 75th! Let the Tonys be the four hour extravaganza they deserve to be!
