I <3 NPH, but how about something a little different. We all know he is the Broadway Poster Child (Man). And yes, he is pretty to look at.

Not necessarily, right? It's 5 more years on CBS, not necessarily 5 more years at Radio City. For all we know, Radio City could book something else like they have for the past 2 years. The Tonys were still on CBS when they were at The Beacon.

I still wish they'd broadcast the technical awards on NY1 or Thirteen or something for those of us who would like to see them presented live.

As much as CBS sucks at the Tonys I'm much happier that it's going to be on network TV. It means anyone anywhere in the country can watch theatre's biggest night, something that I think is really important for the long-term cultural relevance of theatre.
Plus, at least being on CBS means that the budget will be fine. Putting it on some local cable channel would mean a horrible venue and terrible quality. The pros outweigh the cons and I look at this as welcome news.
