What category do you feel each actor should be put in? All leading? All featured? Two leading, two featured?
You have Hunter Bell, Jeff Bowen, Susan Blackwell, and Heidi Blickenstaff- all of whom I hope will be getting lots of Tony buzz.

Posted: 7/11/08 at 12:24pmI'm thinking that by Tony time that Susan Blackwell will have snapped your trachea. Don't be such a vampire. Two leading and two featured is what I think too, but we won't really know until either 1. the first Tony committee meeting or 2. they read this thread and answer it.

They are all so talented, and their performances are so real and exciting. I hope this show isn't forgotten at Tony time.

Posted: 7/11/08 at 12:59pmI see that but WHAT IS the (Title of Show)?? Is it obscene or something and they can't post it? I see stories about this new musical (title of show) but no one EVER says what it is! At least say "Motherf***er the Musical!" or "Eat S*** and Die, Eleanor Roosevelt!" What is the damn title of the damn show ?!

I don't wanna sound like a douche, but seriously: Where have you been?

[title of show] first premiered in the New York Musical Theatre Festival, then was reworked at the Eugene O'Neil Festival and later made its big NYC presentation at the Vineyard Theatre. It is now playing on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre, scheduled to open on Thursday July 17

I hope this show isn't forgotten at Tony time.
Most shows will be lucky to survive this season once Billy Elliott opens. Expect a monster hit the likes of The Producers.

Are you new here? He was clearly being a sarcastic effer.
I don't think this is really an actory kinda show. Srsly, if you give them the Tony, you're kinda saying "don't bother with method or technique or motivation or anything, just get on that stage and be yourself". I mean, Patti LuPone can get away with it, but people aren't really scared of the [tos] cast. Its best hopes are in the creation categories (score, book), seeing as it doesn't really have much excitingly technical going on either.

Posted: 7/11/08 at 1:27pmsorry to burst the bubbles of those who love [title of show] but TDF (the member club for discount tickets) has had and still has tickets for almost every performance of [title of show] for all of July. Shows that are a hit or are heading towards being a hit don't usually post an entire month of discount tickets. Before you start counting your chickens and worrying about how the cast will be nominate - how about they make it to opening night. Not trying to be a vampire either. I saw the show. Just one of those who think that this would have had a much longer life if it remained Off Broadway. Have already mentioned in previous posts...although it has its moments and laughs - it still really is just an Off Broadway show in a theater that happens to be "on" Broadway.

Posted: 7/11/08 at 1:31pmI don't mean to come across incredulous regarding your ignorance of [title of show], but as you post daily on this board, I find it very hard to believe you would be completely oblivious of the dozens of threads and various references (whether it be BWW articles, the banner ads, newslinks, etc.) on this board regarding the show. And if you are, well, there's always Google.

Posted: 7/11/08 at 1:32pmI reservedly acknowledge your facts, Brian07663NJ. I'm a [tos] lover, not just for its incredible fanship, stories, lovable characters and HEART! But it just isn't a tourist draw next to the big boys coming in. I'm crossing my fingers for a Tony nod with Book or Score, at least. I can't help feeling like [tos] is the kind of musical that wins prizes every night simply with the love and smiles it gets (play Hallmark theme here).

Posted: 7/11/08 at 1:35pmI can't imagine this lasting almost a full year until the Tonys. But I thought the same of Xanadu, and I am willing to eat my words.

...but people aren't really scared of the [tos] cast...
They should be.
I'd think all four would be put in Featured. If not that, then Jeff and Hunter for Leading Actor, and Heidi and Susan for Featured Actress.

Shows that are a hit or are heading towards being a hit don't usually post an entire month of discount tickets.
Playing devil's advocate:
A number of shows struggled mightily in previews or shortly after opening until buzz began or the Tonys came. Look at the grosses history for Spring Awakening--it almost didn't make it to the Tonys before nearly sweeping them and selling very well for months afterwards.
Not saying [tos] will or will not be a hit, just saying early discounts is not an indication of future failure.
