I love these Hollywood Reporter and Variety actress roundtables. Like catnip to me. Looking forward to watching later. Now Kelli has the distinction of doing the most roundtables, too!

Last year they did a full video of the interviews...apparently this year they are doing a podcast instead, with photos in the magazine. The podcast is supposed to be online sometime tomorrow.

whaaaat? All those years they always had the full video up for all those different roundtables, not just for the Tonys, but Oscar, Emmys ect.

Why would they change it? not happy at all!

Agreed! Last year Scott Feinberg made such a big deal about how now THR was covering the Tonys, only to have it demoted to an audio recording this year. While every other major award gets full video coverage year after year. It's up on their site now and the Actors one will be posted Monday. Compared to last years, I found it to be incredibly boring and having it in an audio format really lost the intimacy of it being a "conversation".

I would love for Richard Ridge, Seth Rudetsky or Paul Wontorek to actually host a conversation of this style in the future. Maybe with all the nominees of a particular Tony category.

I agree with everything you said. There was some interesting things there but overall it wasn't too much of an in-depth conversation and especially when they were all talking to each other it was so hard to try and make out who said what when you don't have the visual. But that's normally the beauty of these roundtables compared to standard 1:1 interviews, that you have these amazing ladies (or gents) talk to each other, instead of just being interviewed. It's what makes them unique and most of that got lost with just the audio.

Very sad.
