Wicked's probably going to get a bunch...
Kristin and Idina- best actress in a musical
Carole Shelley- best featured actress
Joel Grey- featured actor
Wicked- best musical
I think Hunter Foster and Hugh Jackman will score nominations for best actor...Kerry Butler, perhaps, for best actress.
Not too sure about the rest. :)

I'm actually not sure if Hunter Foster will score a Best Actor nomination.
1. Hugh Jackman
2. John Tartaglia
3. Alfred Molina
4-5. A dogfight between Foster, Euan Morton, and maybe someone from Assassins or Bombay Dreams, depending on the Tony commitee's rulings.
I would give Wicked a chance at Best Choreography, Book, and Score, but I'll be pretty disappointed if Joel Grey gets a nomination for Best Supporting Actor. With Mitchel David Federan, Raul Esparza, and all the men from Assassins in there, Grey just doesn't merit it this year.
Same with Kerry Butler for Best Actress. The field in that category is an absolute killer this year, and someone with mixed reviews just isn't going to make it. I'd say nominations will go to the two Wicked ladies, Donna Murphy, Stephanie D'Abruzzo, and Tonya Pinkins.
Best musical? Wicked, Avenue Q; Caroline, or Change; and then...a dogfight between Taboo, Boy From Oz, and Bombay Dreams...unless Assassins is ruled a new musical, in which case those last three have no chance at the last slot.
And that's all I have to say for now. :)

I think the Best Actress category will be:
Kristin Chenoweth
Idina Menzel
Tonya Pinkins
Stephanie D'Abruzzo
Donna Murphy
I've seen all of them, and that's the first year I've seen so many things :) I don't think Stephanie will win because she's new to Broadway. I'm hoping for Idina to win, but I really don't know who it'll be (maybe between Tonya & Idina?)
i personally feel the WIN of the leading ladies will be between Idina and Donna.
plum-I dunno about Wicked for best choreography, I think it'll probably be NGD

Wicked will probably get the most.
As for leading actress category...Definately Idina Menzel, Kristen Chenoweth, Tonya Pinkins and Donna Murphy. I'm really hoping that for some reason they place Kerry Butler in that fifth slot (I know I'm a minority here)
I hope Douglas Sills and Hunter Foster get nominations as well.
I would love to see Norbert Leo Butz get a nomination over Joel Grey because I thought Norbert stood out more. Again, I'm probably a minority here and this seems very unlikely to happen anyway.

Oh, I didn't mean to win Best Choreography, or any of the other awards I mentioned. That's just nominations. Sorry. :)
I agree that Never Gonna Dance will probably win in Choreography, unless Bombay Dreams dazzles. What other show will be nominated? Boy From Oz?
In terms of technical stuff, I really hope WICKED will win for lighting and costumes...

Other than acting awards for THE BOY FROM OZ ( best actor, best featured actor, and best featured actress, in a musical), it may also get nominated for BEST MUSICAL, CHOREOGRAPHY and ORCHESTRATIONS.
I guess a HUGH JACKMAN win is expected ![]()
I really hope that Raul Esparza gets the recognition he deserves for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for TABOO! Also for Euan Morton to get a Best Actor in a Musical nod would be great too! Does anyone know when Tony Awards tickets go on sale and where I can get them?

I'm praying Frank Langella gets a Best Actor nod for 'Match'.
The most horrifying thing about this thread is ballet3689's icon. And ya know why? Cause I know the lyrics to the song Jessie, Lisa and and Kelly are singing in that pic:
Put your mind to it
Go for it
Get down and break a sweat
Rock and roll
You ain't seen nothin' yet.
I love the very special episode of SAVED BY THE BELL. Jessie hooked on caffeine pills! DRAMA
Oh...and to keep on topic...if Michael Cerveris does not win Best Supporting Actor in a musical, attention has NOT been paid.
so do i honey..my favorite show growing up...
and do i have the DVD set?
yes

hope Euan Morton is nominated and for best score Taboo. Actress can go to anyone hope either Kristin or Idina.
while I thought Morton sang the part well, he was dreadfully boring to watch.
i doubt he gets a nomination.
i might even put money on it! (starving actor contemplates that possibility)

Oh, beg to differ...I found Euan handling the acting as well as the singing, & I sure hope he is remembered come Tony Noms. He went from Sweet to Sour & I think did it quite well
Also am hopeful Esparza is remembered
Alas something tells me my beloved TABOO will be forgotten
(((((((((((((( SOB )))))))))))))))
um....hopefully the Score will be getting a nod, also MAYBE Euan, as well
Though dammit Esparza deserves to be recognized

y dream is to see avenue q get best musical. actually id love to see assassins get best musical and best score! that would be awesome. and even though that would rock, id feel sorta weird cause ive known the show for years... id also love for john tartaglia to get a tony for ave q. i dont really care about jackman winning. ken mandelbaum of broadway.com says that ann harada of ave q has a good chance of winning supporting actress. so im hoping for any awards that this show can possibly win!
ive seen wicked, but based on the recording alone i kinda wish avenue q would win best musical, as unfair it sounds to prefer a show you havnt seen... but i really do love the cd. im going to see it next month. im pulling for idina for best actress though, due to a comination of amazing talent and dedication.
these are some tight races though, sheesh. lead actor seems like the only sure thing, though im not sure that those exist...

Which category did the committee put TYrone Giordano into for his performance in BIG RIVER?
Why is everyone so sure Jackman is gonna win?
