re: Tony Sunday :)

re: Tony Sunday :) the channel on TVU is CBS5 - based in San Francisco ... which means that the Tony broadcast is delayed 3 hours to 8pm US Pacific time, which is 4 am UK time. That means that it will finish at 7am.

Hopefully another channel of TVU will appear that is Eastern or Central, otherwise we're all going to be awake all night re: Tony Sunday :)

re: Tony Sunday :)

Keeping my fingers crossed for a EST feed! Otherwise I will go to bed early and wake up early. Anyone know the opening act?

re: Tony Sunday :)

I had Red Bull, cookies, and Kettle Chips. If I quaff a can during the technical awards, I can then get in a good nap before awakening for the main ceremony at 4am. Alas, there does only seem to be the one CBS channel on TVU Player, but I've done this before and it didn't kill me. Although I was REALLY freakin' high and annoying at work the next day. 8D

re: Tony Sunday :)

Thanks for the research Oz.

So it seems to be a choice between

(a) toggling between here and the Tonys website from 1am onwards. Presumably the best awards will be given out closer to the end so that will mean between 3am and 4am I guess.

or

(b) watching it on TVU between 4am and 7am, by which time most of the inevitable scrap on the Broadway board will be over.

or

(c) both if you don't have work/school tomorrow.

Scrap or TVU?

Scrap or TVU?

What's it to be?

re: Tony Sunday :)

im gonna be on here and Tony Website...im not bothering with TVU if they're not showing til 4am, thats a stupid time to be watching the Tony's, i'll just watch it all on YouTube tomorrow :P lol

so i'll be here until the early hours (like normal) chatting and scraping...with the occasional innuendo re: Tony Sunday :)
#36

re: Tony Sunday :)

Yes, there will be a medley with all of the nominated shows with some very special guests assisting them :)

re: Tony Sunday :)

I've got Red Bull! So if I take a nap between the technicals and the main event, I should just make it through. Shame I have work tomorrow, but it's not like it's a busy, responsibility-packed job. XD

re: Tony Sunday :)

Red Bull is horrendous stuff.

It does what it says on the can though.

Do we know what time the main event starts?

Apparently people sleep in four hour cycles so I might try sleeping 10pm 'til 2am. But no doubt one of my twatlike friends who send txts at 1:00am will wake me up.

re: Tony Sunday :)

Just finished work, and am about to go to bed.

Anyone else gonna be up at 4am for the TVU broadcast?

PS: please can no one email/text/tell me the results between now and then? kthnxby xo

re: Tony Sunday :)

That's American time, not real time. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to look at, gosh, ALL the Tony footage ever to find an 8pm start time. re: Tony Sunday :) I think we're looking at 3am for the main event (possibly 4am; I've never been good with timezones), and Marc Shaiman is dropping hints that it'll probably run over three hours (although I don't imagine it'll be much longer).

re: Tony Sunday :)

The actual event starts at 1am UK time, but the only TVU channel available is CBS5 which is based in San Francisco, therefore the broadcast is delayed three hours.

re: Tony Sunday :)

Considering going to bed soon and waking up for the 4am start.

Have to teach tomorrow (little kids on no sleep just won't do)...this is the first year I haven't been in North America and gutted that I can't watch it at a normal time. I guess no one has come across another live stream from CBS - from the east coast?
