When to tickets for the Tonys go on sale? Couls someone please tell me? And also how much are they? Thanks!

Thats funny because I know people who have gone every year and just buy their tickets. But I maybe able to get them through a friend because their in a show right now. But i just wanted to buy them for myself.

For the general public, I believe they go on sale at 10am the morning of nominations...

really? cuz I've tried at 9am, when they go on sale every year for the last 3 years and they always say its sold out. What can I do to get them?

You have to keep trying every day.
All of the tickets aren't released for sale on that first day. I got mine, in 2004, on the Saturday before the show, right from Ticketmaster. They had come up sold out every day before and then "POOF" they were there.

I had no trouble getting tickets both times I tried (in 2002 and 2003). I starting checking right when they went onsale and was able to purchase tickets. In 2003, I was even able to check in a couple different locations before choosing the spot I liked best (and fit best into my budget).

I am going through a connection, but he told me they release tickets closer to the day of the program. That's when he normally gets his tickets but since I am going to NYC specifically for the Awards, he used his connections to make sure I have tickets.

Tony Awards tickets go on sale at 9am Tuesday, May 16 on Ticketmaster - right after the nominations are announced. They usually sell out fairly quickly, but you never know.

You should keep trying even if they sell out that day, because many times more tickets are released closer to the event.

check telecharge or ticketmaster the night before the show. That's when they usually release the last of the tickets.

of course you'll pay more than face value, but i got my tickets last year on ebay, and they weren't outrageously more than what they were from ticketmaster.
