I definitely don't think he's right about this production. I do agree that he is entitled to his own opinion, however biased it may be since clearly his involvement in the previous revival easily clouds his judgement, but there is a thing called CLASS and Tony clearly has none. Patti and Mandy aren't running around bashing the Evita revival, and lord knows if anyone could get away with it, they could.

At least we all know who Tony Vincent will likely never work with, assuming this gets around.
Yeah of course he's entitled to his own opinion, but defending him is pretty frigging stupid. Notice how NO ONE else does this? It's tacky and, quite frankly, a terrible career move. I suppose he thinks he's above Broadway now and won't be coming back?
I didn't care for this revival of JCS, but it was far better than the disaster Tony Vincent was involved in.

Why are we talking about Tony Vincent, again?

100% agree with adamgreer. I've seen a lot of crappy Rent ripoffs over the years, but none worse than the JCS revival that Tony "just call me Roger" Vincent was in. He just sounds bitter and pathetic.

Also, I think it's really funny that ALW has gone on record as saying this was like his favorite production of JSC ever and Vincent feels "embarrassed" for him.
To be fair ALW says that about any production of his shows that he wants to go to Broadway.
Then he trashes them if they didn't succeed years later and hypes up his latest project, which he then depicts as the greatest thing ever created. Repeat ad infinitum.

I still think his comment was unnecessary. Apparently, Tony has been sending out private messages and apologizing, but I didn't get one. He did send me a private message on twitter, but it was still in defense of his comment. I've been a fan of his for a while, I have all of his solo CDs, and I was very upset with his tweet.
Regardless of his intention, even if it wasn't motivated by jealousy, it still flew directly in the face of the whole out poor of love and support from the Broadway community that everyone on the Tony Awards was talking about. There are some things that you just don't say out loud, or in this case tweet for the world to see. Tony's comment was uncalled for, and I think it was a very senseless thing to say for a guy currently trying to raise money for a new album.

And did anyone think that it might not even have BEEN the actual Tony Vincent who has that twitter account. After all it IS Tony THE Vincent.
Just throwing that out there -- I don't know OR care.
