I'd like to know where it is written that Roxie has to be slim & trim?

Roxie is a very dance intensive role. Unless you can really move (or make a brave attempt at it), you can't play Roxie.

Not to mention, you need to believe that Roxie was a hot enough piece of ass for Fred to cheat on his wife. And Roxie has to be adorable and sexy enough to get her way using her looks and sex appeal.

Im not saying this to in any way be offensive to overweight women, but statistically, the thinner, trimmer woman will get what she wants using sex appeal before a larger woman will.

Agreed, CJR.

There have been some not-so-great Roxies over the years, but we can basically say that every woman that has played her was a HOT woman. Smoking body, etc.

This is in no way a knock to bigger womaen, but Roxie and Velma are usually casts with very sexy ladies, with very dance oriented bodies.

I'm sure Lillias will grow into the role of Mama, and she will improve. The role is a great fit for her. I just would not want to see her in Roxie's black lace skimpy costume. It just wouldn't look flattering on her. Updated On: 2/6/06 at 11:20 PM
