I feel bad they're doing all these tech awards during the commercials. That must be how they're fitting in all these performances.

Nooo, the tech awards are being presented immediately before the awards ceremony proper, and you can watch them being webcast on the Tony website. Which you SHOULD, because my new drinkin' buddies Julie White and Michael Cerveris are presenting.
