It isn't going to happen. Maybe, just maybe a tie. But Ebersole's gonna take it, I think.
Capn...it took me the longest time to follow what you were saying.
Not concise today, are we...
bwaygal: I tried to PM you back but it says you do not accept PMs. Don't send them unless you can receive them.
Plus, I have NO idea what you're talking about in your PM. It doesn't make any sense to me.
'But Ebersole will be rewarded, I think.'
I say this from love. Please stop talking about the actors as if they were dogs. We do not give a good performance to get rewarded.
"Please stop talking about the actors as if they were dogs. We do not give a good performance to get rewarded. "
heheheheheheheheheheheheheheh
But seriously, robbie is right.
And, I think the choice of performance is going to be just fine---there are many factors involved, most of which have not been mentioned here and won't be. So let's just sit back and have a fun time Tony night and enjoy the show. May GG have much success, but whatever will be will be.
does it matter? we are the only ones who'll be watching the damned tonys.
I can't be the only one who notices Broadway actors getting their little treats whenever they do a scene properly or perform a trick correctly.
If only I could lick my....nevermind.
I wanted them to do this! I hope it's because she's going to win the Tony and they want to feature her.
Only ONCE was I given a sugar cube when I performed a double pirouette.
I'm kidding.
I've NEVER landed a double pirouette.
I think this is a fine choice.
I love ANOTHER WINTER and AROUND THE WORLD, but we don't want another weird, completely out of context dramatic number like Tonya Pinkins gave for CAROLINE, OR CHANGE.
What about as an opening, "O hi, thank heaven your here, you look terriffic. Honest."
"Mother wanted me to come out in a kimono, so we had quite a fight."
Yes, of course they'll do that. It's the beginning of the song.
I think it's a great choice. I absolutely love her delivery.
It's a great song and a great performance, I just wish we could see a little something more from the show, I mean...just a little snippet of something in Act I maybe leading into "Revolutionary Costume".
I dont know- I wont mind Christine performing the song, I just wanted something...different.
As much as I love the song, it's just not "commercial" enough to sell many tickets, and that's what the Tony performance should do, sell tickets. Yes, there won't be a big audience for the Tonys (is there ever?) but some family watching TV who comes across the Tonys and sees this isn't going to think "Wow! That looks really good! I want to see that". They'll think "What the hell was that?" unless they're familar with the documentary. Honestly, I think they'd be better off doing something form the first act.
Aren't there other montages that will include B roll of other material from the show?
Hopefully. Sometimes they're generous with clips, sometimes they're not - unfortunately. "You understand."
"Mother said she can fix it with the whole thing. Isn't it terrific? Mother's fine. She gave me some terrible strong coffee this morning, I felt awful.... I just swallowed the last bit of lobster. I stole the cake last night. I ran all around the house. Two talks with Marjorie left me GASPING. I'm terribly afraid of her. She's a nice woman, but she's friends with my brother - can make a lot of trouble for me. She said I was having a nervous breakdown and should go to Atlantic City. I'm not THAT broken down YET!
You ought to be in pictures..."
Well it was def better when PBS carried the first hour. Lots of footage.
