I have heard she is amazing in the show...I think she was def. sick that night at the Tony's! The performance was very powerful but the vocal part wasn't so hot...but i would still recommend going to see it!:

Go see the show. You'll understand how she can't sustain that in a chain of unbroken performances without a day or two off. Personally, I'm surprised they don't have Adriane Lenox serving as an alternate simply because the woman needs some time off. That role is a vocal workout the likes of which don't exist on Broadway currently.
***Edited to include the very talented Adriane as the ACTUAL standby***

Posted: 6/22/04 at 1:02pmAdriane Lenox is her standby and apparently was terrific when she filled in for Pinkins after the Tonys. They should let her do the matinees for Pinkins, the way that Nancy Opel did Patti Lupone's matinees in "Evita."

Posted: 6/22/04 at 1:08pmI saw Caroline last week and also six weeks ago. Her voice was strained and cracked last week, and only I noticed, since my friend hadn't yet seen the show. When i mentioned it, he thought it was intentional, that her voice showed "world weariness." So, in portraying Caroline, a strained voice may work!
