Tonya Pinkins ... ROBBED!

Just saw CAROLINE, OR CHANGE.

It completely blew me away. Honestly, I was not looking forward to it too much based on the performance at the Tony Awards.

Now, I'm a big fan of AVENUE Q, and I was rooting for it in every possible category at the awards -- so I was happy for the show at the time. I love the music and the book, and the entire cast.

Jeanine Tesori and Tony Kushner have done incredible, ground-breaking work with CAROLINE. I think this show is completely underappreciated. It's way ahead of its time.

Tonya Pinkins was robbed. Tesori & Kushner were robbed.

If you stop laboring under the delusion that the Tonys are about talent, then it's a lot easier to take every year. Trust me. Just enjoy the show and realize it's a BUSINESS. Don't stress over it.

Um..I love Tonya Pinkins...but that was an awful perfromance.


And I'm not sure she was robbed...she is great in the role...C or change should have gotten more....but I was thrilled for Idina.

I thought this thread was reporting that Tonya Pinkins was recently robbed of money or possessions or something of that nature. Oh well, back to the cave.

i never saw caroline, yet i i bought the cast album. Which is the show without viewing it. The music was alright. Most of the cast was perfect except the kid who played noah he turned annoying about halfway through.

Yet, I cried while listening to the cd when the whole racism thing became big. and Lot's wife! ahhh i mean i saw the tonys but geez that was what made me full out loose it i ahd to stop the cd for a good 10 minutes.

Overall i'd give the music a 6/10 and the cast a 8 or 9/10
