Check it out!

"Five-Trick Pony" is the official blog of Felicia Ricci, writer of the Wicked-based blog "Unnaturally Green" (http://unnaturallygreen.blogspot.com)
Really?
So, why isn't the title of the thread, "Here's a link to my blahg because I need the hits"?

Well it seems I've compromised the journalistic integrity of this open public forum. I suppose I assumed incorrectly that an online community that chats about theater would appreciate some theater-related humor!
Maybe I should take a cue from TheatreDiva90016, get a new anonymous username, and say obnoxious things with impunity.

Seriously, why do people on here have a stick up their ass?
Ms. Ricci has a blog which chronicles the life of a actor in NYC, you would think that people on here would appreciate that since that's the field in which most of us want to go into. And she has a hysterical sense of humor which is pretty cool considering the hardships of this profession. And I got a chuckle after reading the blogs so what is the harm of her coming on here sharing it? Last time I checked there was not a law against this.

Felicia's blog is both humorous and informative, and anyone who takes themselves seriously enough to be angered by this blog needs a reality check. Keep doing what you're doing, Felicia!
I enjoy Felicia's blog. Would I advertise my product on a message board? No, but that's nothing against her for doing it. Can we all just be glad that it's actually a good product and not a less than acceptable video series?

I'm actually curious about the function of a message board community. My understanding was that it was to disseminate ideas and exchange information. Why should this exclude creative forms of expression?
While I guess there's a fuzzy line between "advertising" and sharing, my feeling is if the material is relevant (i.e. theater-related), and contains ideas that might interest others, why shouldn't it be posted? It's not like I get anything from having people read my blog. Honestly, the ads generate like 5 cents a year! I just try to make people laugh.
Anyway I'm not saying this in a contentious way - just trying to engender a discussion...
I think I'll write a blog post about it!
Rock it out...rock it out haha
Well, I love that two of your supporters just joined...
What bothers ME is the headline looks fun, and the you open the thread and find out you have to go to someone's blahg to see what they are talking about.
Maybe actually post what you talk about in your title, and then say, "if you like my writing, you can visit my blog at..."

Yes, because being on this board for a longer period of time makes your opinion much more valid.

Oh we are IN IT, TheatreDiva90016! We are IN IT!
I haven't had this much fun since I had a tooth extracted!
After reading the blog she posted, I was not impressed. (Although certainly not the worst I've ever read.)
And NO, most of us do not want to "go into this field". Some of us are actually grown ups and have lives.....some that are already IN the field but many more that are simply passionate about theater. And others that this is just fun for.
I fail to see what kind of "discussion" the poster expected to generate.
Hmmm dramamama, it's people like you and theaterdiva that makes BWW a joke amongst many. Any time someone post's something you do not like, you have to lay into them.
And who the hell cares if people are new and are in this discussion? I had no idea there was a number of posts you have to achieve before you are validated. This is not a poetic's society, it is a PUBLIC forum.
And if ya didnt want to read her blog or didnt like the fact she put a link to it, here's an idea, hit the back button, and ignore it.

Why can't you just post what you are talking about, instead of making people go to your web site?

I meant I was trying to engender a discussion about the nature of message boards, which was in response to the controversy over what constitutes appropriate posting.
I won't claim the blog post is anything but humor for humor sake. My question was whether entertainment (i.e. humor) can be a valuable contribution to a forum in and of itself. I think it can. It's just a matter of whether or not you like that sort of thing. In your case, you don't. And that's cool!
Yay we're all friends!
Again...who the flimmity flam flum cares if I joined a few days ago?! Why does a number of posts determine who is better/more qualified to be on these forums? We are all theater lovers, some of us lurked on these forums for a while and decided to join (like I)
I didn't "lay into" anyone. I made a comment.
I also didn't say a WORD about anyone being new or being able to make a comment in ANY discussion.
All I'm saying:
1. I'm entitled to my opinion, just as much as anyone else. (or does that only apply to those that agree with you?)
2. Her post didn't invite any sort of DISCUSSION, no opinion, no query, just: read my blog.
Nowhere in your list of five do I see canned good. Eminently useful and you never have to worry about getting the wrong size.
Ummm it was a post about funny gifts that you could give to actor friends...obviously a satirical piece...and plus...the calender is something that I for one would love to have hahaha
Sean...canned food is a good idea, :)
Sean, she did, however, mention cash monies. You could buy canned goods with money, or drugs. Whichever works for you.
