OH MY GOD!! PARADE!!! That's my new number 1!
I'm glad someone said PETER PAN. If it's done right, the show is brutally moving.
I forgot to mention:
M. BUTTERFLY
One of the all time greats!

1.Passion (Original Broadway Cast, if you think Elphaba flying in "Defying Gravity" is powerful, then you never saw Donna Murphy coming down the stairs on the background with Marin Mazzie singing to Jere Shea on stage)
2.Gypsy (2003 Original Cast, saw it at a time of my life when I was questioning my theater career due to unemployment, saw this show and Bernadette Peters singing on that stage just made me realize that those moments are priceless, saw it five times)
3.A Chorus Line (regional production supervised by Baayork Lee, gotta love "the line")
4.Sweeney Todd (regional production, I didn't fall in love with Sondheim for Passion but after I saw Sweeney I follow him blindly. 2005 Revival, perfect theater event)
5.Rent (only with the Original Broadway Cast, the energy on the theatre was magical, you knew you were in for an event, there were celebrities around, it felt like a rock concert, no words to describe what was going on)
In no particular order:
Sweeney Todd- gave me chills. It's still one of the most powerful experiences I've ever had in the theater.
Les Miserables - First Broadway show I remember seeing. I was 9 years old, and it left an indelible impression on me.
Sunday in the Park with George- sublime beyond words
Don Carlos (in London) - Derek Jacobi is a force of nature. One of the most thrilling performances I've ever witnessed
Richard II (also in London) - Court hall setting. Original era costumes. Mesmerizing production.
This is a tough one....in no particular order:
Tick Tick Boom
The Normal Heart
Taboo
Comedians
The Pillowman
No particular order but all have moved me immensely!
Violet
Caroline or Change
Light in the Piazza
The Beautiful Game
Whistle Down the Wind
1)Sweeney Todd 2005 Revival- I went in there expecting to be in awe but what I wasn't expecting was to be speechless the entire time...it was the most thrilling theaterical experience of my life
2)Gypsy 2003 Revival- Up until Sweeney Todd, this was the most exciting theaterical experience. Jus amazing. Bernadette never ceases to amaze me!
3)Ragtime- This was the show that captured by heart and started my interest in theater/broadway
4)Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf- The revival with Turner brought out my interest in plays agian and have began reading up on all Edward albee's.
5) Caroline or Change/ Dessa Rose
Not in any order:
Agnes of God (Broadway)
A Chorus Line (1st National Tour)
The Children's Hour (Regional)

Okay, as we all know I'm a huge Wicked fan but I know that there are so many better things out there and I'm not a wicklyn! (haha C)
Wicked really affected me because it was the my "gateway" show. (Get the joke?)
I have never seen Les Mis on Broadway but the music is so moving.
This weekend I had the priveledge of seeing Maria Friedman in The Woman in White and it was the best show of the year that I have seen.
She is a great woman and a great star! The show, along with her performance, is amazing! The show really personifies true love.
not in any order:
recent Fiddler Revival
Cabaret revival
Caroline, or Change
A New Brain
Spelling Bee (call me soft, but I really felt for these characters by the time they were getting eliminated...I won't give anything away)
Parade definitley.
Side Show.
Rent....1996-1998 anyway,
Les Miserables.
A Man of No Importance....just really moved me....simple show, but I found it beautiful.

Hi! I haven't been to alot of musicals lately, but here are some that I consider to be the most moving and powerful.
1. The Last Five Years
2.Hairspray(I saw this one)
3Jersey Boys
4.RENT
5. Wicked

Les Miserables - just because it was so huge and so powerful, especially the music.
Godspell - Yes, Godspell. The role of Jesus, being written as a regular guy minus the whole messiah thing, really gets you at the end (I assume you all know how it ends). The dead silent "Oh God, I'm dead" is one of the only times I have been in a theatre where nobody made a sound...very eerie.
Jesus Christ Superstar - The 2003 tour with Eric Kunze and Carl Anderson. They got rid of that awful music during the crucifixtion and it was just quiet, very still. Very eerie and much more powerful.
