Hey guys! Let me cut to the chase. I live about 35 minutes from NYC, so I've seen lots of shows, as most of you know. Yet, there are still some I haven't seen. Mom and I are planning to go into the city on Friday of this week, which show should we do TKTS for?
Chicago
Light in the Piazza
Spelling Bee
Avenue Q
Chita Rivera
All the other shows I have seen, or don't want to see right now, or it could be Spamalot. I can't get tickets for that darn show! Ahhhh! Sorry. And we were also thinking of doing a lottery (pretty much knowing we wouldn't win due to our extreme luck with the Wicked lottery) just for fun, so if you could also help me pick which lottery we should do, that would be great. So thanks in advanced for the help, you guys rock!

Is Spelling Bee on TKTS?
(Sorry, I know that doesn't answer your question, I was just curious)
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
#3re: Tough decision for Elphie...what show?
Posted: 12/26/05 at 8:09pmI think it is.

All of those shows are great.
If you actually want to see them all, I'd probably recommend "Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life" because there are already murmurs that it may close. All the other shows have relative security or specific end dates.

Posted: 12/26/05 at 8:20pmChita closing? Oh God, c'mon. You throw out a hundred bucks to see Spamalot but not Chita! What horse****! (Sorry, just letting it out)

Posted: 12/26/05 at 8:59pmJV92, no offense, but after seeing both, Spamalot blows Chita out of the water. Chita is good, but it's no Spamalot.

Personally, I'd see Chita 1000 times before I'd see Spamalot once, but that is just my personal preference.
I can understand why people might be drawn to Spamalot, but it does nothing for me. I just don't find Monty Python particularly funny.
As for Chita closing, I believe I read it on here that the show wasn't doing well and it was thought that more money could be had by touring the show, but it's entirely possible that I am wrong.

Posted: 12/26/05 at 9:15pmPatronus, that makes sense. If you don't like Python humor, you'll never like the show. As for me, I think Holy Grail is one of the funniest movies of all time, so I was almost destined to love Spamalot.

Posted: 12/26/05 at 11:47pmI'd personally choose Avenue Q ... but I don't know if I could sit through that show with my mom because she wouldn't laugh at the funny parts. :)

Tough decision for Kevo also!
What to see?...
The Producers
Woman in White
Sweeney Todd
Those are the ones being considered but I'm open to other suggestions. I want to see a show I have not yet seen... Shows currently on Broadway that I have seen are... Lion King, Wicked, Hairspray, DRS, RENT, Piazza, Spelling Bee, Chitty, and The Color Purple.
I'm going to NYC on Jan. 6th and 7th so any shows open those days! Thanks!
