Posted: 8/24/04 at 8:51pmDoes anyone know if she comes out after the matinees? I would assume not, but my only available for the show is a matinee. I would really like to meet her, and I'm not sure that time constraints will permit to swing back after the evening performances (wed/thurs), and I will not wait before the show because I don't think that's right to ambush a performer like that.

Posted: 8/24/04 at 8:58pmI do as well, and this is probably the last chance I'll be able to meet her. I just think she's a phenomenal actress, and I wanted to have the chance to tell her.

I would suppose she might, since her show is so short, and she has a longer show-break.

Posted: 8/24/04 at 9:01pmI wish everyone would see Tovah in Golda's Balcony. I was completely blown away by her portrayal of Golda Meir.

Tovah is very nice and approachable. I met her several times.
Go see her in Golda's Balcony. I have seen it four times.
It is a brilliant performance.

"she has a weird name... haha tovah"
FYI: It's a very common hebrew name. tov means good in hebrew ie: you say to someone lila tov meaning good night. Just wanted to share. And yes she is amazing, does anyone remember her from her days on law and order?

Do yourself a favor and try to sweeten the pot on your chances a bit...find a nice greeting card and write a nice message on the inside telling her in a polite but professional manner just how much you like her as a performer and how grateful you would be for the chance to meet her. Mention that you are seeing the show today at the Matinee and that you will be outside by the stage door afterward, and that if she has a moment, you'd love a chance to tell her in person. Wether she is gracious enough to comply or not, you'll have made the effort. Drop this note off at the stage door with the attendant, and then hang out there for a few minutes after the show (make sure and give her time to get out of makeup and get presentable...) if she hasn't shown up in 30 minutes or so - chalk it up to a nice try and realize that you at least got to see her wonderful performance. Also, put your return address on the card - that way, even if she doesn't make it out to meet you in person, she may decide to reply at a later date with a quick note of thanks - many stars do this.
Good Luck, Possum!

Posted: 8/25/04 at 11:16amTovah is really nice. I sent her a little note c/o the Helen Hayes Theatre and her assistant sent me a letter back, with a personal note from Tovah on the bottom congratulating me on my graduation and wishing me luck in college. Great lady!
