Posted: 10/6/12 at 8:23pmI have seen reviews online from people who have seen the movie and i can tell you right the now the whole measuring the daughter up to be a stripper is not true. I would say Coming Up Roses is used to rather evoke the mothers obsession with musical theater and her reluctance to admit that everything in her world has turned to ****, and she can no longer escape that.

If anyone is interested in knowing what the movie is REALLY about (and nothing here comes close), you may want to go to this site and read the synopsis.
The only gig the teenage daughter gets is I believe as a drug dealer, and unbeknownst to her mother.
